This lightbulb is perfectly fine. unfortunately the lamp that I installed it in keeps shorting my lightbulbs.

This was ordered for a Philips light alarm clock, the kind that ramps up the light level as an alarm. When it works, it works well to wake me at an ungodly hour for work and play. The unit takes a very specific bulb, that I usually order the Philips brand, but the Sylvania brand popped up when I had the proper bulb information (base, voltage, watts), and is less expensive than the Philips. As noted the clock does not work all that well at times, reflective of Philips lack of QC in my book (just look to the Philips’s CPAP issues for proof), and goes through a bulb about every 18 months of daily use. Just be sure to not use bare hands when installing as the bulb is halogen and skin oils are claimed to damage the quartz glass.

I bought these to replace the bulbs in my Lightforce 170s. Exact same bulbs that came with the lamps. The new ones lasted about 10 seconds before burning out. Both bulbs failed exactly the same way. I can only assume there was a manufacturing defect.

I recieved a Phillips bulb number 409850; not an Osram Sylvania bulb number 64623. It'll work, but I could have bought what I received locally for the same cost. The bulb I received is rated for 1000 hours of use; the bulb I ordered and wanted is rated at 2000 hours of use. This will work, but it's like buying an apple and getting an orange, both are fruit. Maybe the vendor should actually ship what they are selling.
