It solar charged, in the dark. But on a full charge (from being plugged in), didn't charge my cell phone...even halfway. My cell phone is 3300 mah.Very disappointing. I needed a reliable external battery. I loved almost everything about this device at first! It's a small battery. It has two super bright flashlights, that have different modes. It had everything I needed in portability and convenience! It just didn't charge correctly.Had to return it. Didn't want to. I never use the solar power but it charges quickly from its wire.
