They sell this at the 99 cent only store. Along with the chicken batter and cornbread. It's been there consistently for like a year.

I must admit, I have not yet read the label, it probably contains lots of things I either never heard of, or know to be not-so-good for human consumption.But having this once in a while is probably OK - most things in moderation are.That said, this is the best home fish batter I have ever tasted, and better than most diner batters, too. The fact that it needs only water added is amazing - quick, simple preparation, and the family likes it, as well.Get it while you can, I am not certain that it will be available long term.The current Amazon page depicts another product, don't know why.

I tried the baking method and followed the directions to a 'T.' It was horrible! I scraped it off. I only paid a $1.00 for it on special and that was far more than it was worth.

I used this batter for a 4 piece meal of chile' rellano. It was the best batter for that meal with mexican rice and refried beans. I am going to try it on fried chicken next. Yummy. Make it with a little more milk.
