Average volume perfection
The sound bar is decent. It doesn’t get super loud and the bass leaves much to be desired. It is however decent for normal television viewing.

Low Frequency Noise, Annoying bright flashing BT LED, terrible remote reach
I got this unit included in a bundle package with an LG TV bought through Amazon. I would have normally opted for just the TV and separately choosing my accessories, but the stuff was included for free (same price as the TV alone) and no exact TV was offered for a lower price. It's a small step above the TV speakers but not much. The three biggest problems are in the title: if you connect with the optical cable, you get no volume control through the TV. If you connect through Bluetooth, you get this really bright flashing LED in the front of the unit. It's not something you want to be flashing at you if you're trying to watch a show or movie, especially in a darkened room. The optical limitation of having to use the separate remote wouldn't be such a big issue if the remote (or the optical receiver) wasn't so bad. I can't tell if it's bad buttons that I have to hit multiple times, or if it has blind spots/angles...but I find myself having to raise my hand over my head while finding an angle at which the unit seems to respond to the remote. That's unacceptable. The other problem is a low rumble coming from the subwoofer either when the TV is off or when the sound in the source is quiet. My 20 year old Polk satellite system sounds better.I can see much better rated sound bars for similar prices. I'll probably use the built-in speakers and connect my old subwoofer directly to the TV unless I decide to pull the trigger on something better rated.
