When you love a 6 dollar item enough to write a 4 paragraph review
Like most reviewers, I find the snap situation annoying but not impossible to deal with. They could easily have added the second snap and added 50 cents or whatever to the cost, but anyway, I'm here to review what is, not what could be!I use this for my bullet journaling supplies as follows (from left to right in the picture): 23 Sipa markers (8mm in diameter), 4 Tombows (10mm), 1 Papermate highlighter (10mm), 5 Frixions (11mm), 1 6" steel ruler that I place in the "eraser" slot, 1 Sarasa Gel (10mm). I leave one band open between each set of items. The bands work nicely from the 8mm to 11mm range and could stretch further. If most of your pens are 10+mm and have grips, I'd caution against this item, since they create a lot of friction against the elastic and are difficult to slide in and out. My markers slide effortlessly and never fall out, but my Frixions are difficult. The number of slots makes this truly useful. If I leave 4 slots empty (which I like to do anyway to separate each set of pens from each other), I am able to close with the included snap. I'm going to purchase a snap kit for 5 dollars and see if it works with the existing snap and hole just because I'd like to close it a little looser, but it does work as-is.This is my second purchase. I bought it once before and tried to cut off the snap and use velcro instead. After a year it became a sticky mess and the stitching was falling apart on the flap, so I ended up tossing it and buying another. I just can't find another item that has this many holders and is understated and sturdy. I like a very simple, functional aesthetic and this fits the bill. I use it and love it daily.

Very Handy and Compact!
This pen roll is a great product for the price. The loops are large enough for standard-size pens and highlighters; they would probably stretch for fatter markers like Crayola. If you wish to roll it up after each use, you will need to place pens in every other loop; otherwise it will not roll properly but would fold in half to store. It has a hole at the end of the strap for easy hanging and I believe it would support the unit even if it was full. Shown is my roll with Zebra Mildliners and Sharpie pens placed every other loop; and rolled up with this same quantity inside. (All additional products shown were purchased at Amazon).

Pretty Decent, minor issues
The pouch is pretty decent. I like it, but I do have a few issues with it. There is only one button but there is an extra hole in the strap. So I'm not really sure if it's supposed to be like that or if I got a defective one with the second button missing. But I ended up sewing a button that I got from a shirt on the strap and I used the extra hole that it has to button up the strap. It seems to be holding up fine. For the materials that I have in the pouch, I'm not able to close it up using the button that it comes with. It just won't reach, but since I added the button I'm able to fully close the pouch. If you only plan on using this pouch for standard size pencils and colored pencils it should be fine to fully stock it up and be able to close the pouch using the button it comes with. But I have various pencils, blending stumps, an eraser, a graphite stick, pencil extenders, a brush, a fineline marker, and a brush marker. My pouch is too bulky to use the button clasp that it comes with, even though there's a few empty spaces, so I'm only able to use the button I added on, unless I remove some items. JUST SO YOU KNOW, Prismacolor markers will NOT fit! I tried but the slots are just too small and I don't want to bust the threads trying to force them in. I was able to fit a Faber-Castell PITT artist brush pen in the slot. I can also fit a Sakura Micron Pigma liner pen. Anything bigger than those probably wouldn't fit. But the fineline pens and markers tend to make the pouch really bulky to the point where you won't be able to close it if you put too many in. So I only have 2 marker pens. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone who's looking for something cheap to hold their pencils in.

Excellent Product With Few Quibbles
This art roll pouch is a great edition to any artist's gallery of tools; it's compact, can hold a lot of materials, and is secure (nothing will fly out of the open ends as long as you're sensible). I was very impressed with this roll and have given a few to friends and family that needed them and nobody has reported any major issues.A few (very) minor points:-- the rings holding the pens/pencils/markers are VERY tight! My Faber-Castell markers were a pain to get in and out. Anything thinner than those were a breeze though.-- the loop that holds the roll together when closed needs to be adjusted; it's not long enough to support a fully packed roll.-- when folding up the roll, leave a few spaces blank where the fold lines are to ensure it rolls smoothly.I don't imagine I'll be venturing too far without this ever again!

So Far, So Good!
I've been using the pouch for the last three weeks or so and so far things are great. All my pencils and pens roll up snug, and the whole thing takes hardly any room in my schoolbag. I'd read some reviews where people said the pouch didn't close right with fewer items inside, but with the pouch half full as I have it right now it's not an issue. The snap closure seems sturdy, the construction of the pouch itself also looks good.My only neutral comment would be that the amount of elastic band per slot leaves markers fitting pretty snugly. I keep a set of Sakura markers in my pouch, and you have to try to jiggle them end around a bit to get them to fit under the elastic. But they do still fit and pencils slide right in. That said, I'd still recommend this pouch to anyone looking to carry around pens/pencils and save space!
