It's whisper quiet even at faster speeds. It easily reverses directions with the remote. It's styled gorgeously. The only reasons to ding my review by a single star amount to very minor complaints which are as follows: (1) the directions are poorly written (or perhaps poorly translated) so installation took me a couple of days, and... (2) the fan offers a stupefying 6 operating speeds but I can't recommend using any higher than, say, setting 3 because after that, it's going so fast that it really feels like it might eventually damage itself (which is OK because nobody outside a jetstream lab needs windspeed that fast), and finally... (3) my version has a tiny brass colored collar between the light and the blades which isn't to my taste, b/c it's a bit garish. Literally nobody else notices this, however. If you're waffling on whether or not to get this fan like I was, go ahead and buy one.
