Absolutely best bread knife
This knife was top rated on a cooking show and it did not disappoint. It arrived a day early and that day I needed to slice bread for a farmers marketI was behind schedule and finished baking around noon. I had to leave at 2 so I put the loaves in the refrigerator for 45 minutes to cool. I then proceeded to slice the loaves barely an hour out of the oven. This knife sliced easily and without crushing the loaves at all. I was very impressed and highly recommend this knife.

14 months later
Review follow up 14 months later.Excellent. Still sharp as ever. Use it for all of my sourdough bakes (pretty regularly). Been making the Wonderbread and Cinnamon raisin loaves lately and it makes such awesome slices. I used my bf’s bread knife at his house to slice a cinnamon bread and the slices came out pretty rough. It was then that I was reminded how awesome this knife really is. Don’t hesitate to. Get it before they realize how popular it is in sourdough and jack up the price. I’d buy it again.

Simply the best bread knife available.
Cuts/slices brilliantly!. Extremely sharp, light weight, well constucted and easy to handle. One thing I did learn from doing some research on bread knives is that they cannot be sharpened. We've been living with and using a 10 year Henkels bread knife and after using this Mercer knife it was a god send. Hot, fresh bread or dried out bread is no match for this knife. Slicing sandwiches in half results in no squashed slices. I highly recommend. 5 stars for ease of use and price.

Amazing for large loads of bread
I went with this knife because of all the great reviews. It did not let me down!We have been buying the large sourdough bread loaves at the farmers market and needed a large knife to cut the slices. This knife is amazing. It has a great handle, it’s the perfect length, and it simply slices through the bread so the bread is not tearing apart. This has been a highly used item over the last few weeks since we’ve purchased it. It makes me want to go buy more uncut loaves of fresh bread. It didn’t come with a case or anything, but that was fine. We have a knife holder, and it fits perfectly in the top slit.

Very sharp knife
This knife is great for cutting bread and super sharp. I have a love hate relationship with it. I love how it cuts throw bread so easily but hate how easily it can cut throw skin so quickly. You do need to be very careful when using this knife.

Angel food cake anyone?
I needed a new serrated knife so started looking at the reviews. Almost all of them commented on how well a particular knife cut crusty sourdough bread. I on the other hand wanted a serrated knife to cut angel food cake, hamburger and hot dog buns, and crusty but delicate croissants. This knife works a dream for all those things. It glides through, no smooshing. Handle is easy to hold. The knife has enough heft to be sturdy but is not too heavy. The price was very reasonable, making it a good value. I’ve only had it 2 months so can’t speak to its longevity but I’m very happy with it so far.

Buy this knife.
I am shook. I am never shook. This $15 bread knife cuts better than any $15 bread knife has business cutting. Buy it. Just buy it. If you bake or cut bread at all, buy this dang knife and save your arthritic hands. Mine are pissed at me for not finding it and buying it sooner.
