Gaiam Yoga Mat Towel Microfiber Mat-Sized Yoga Towel for Hot Yoga

I really like this towel. I use it very often, and even after being washed dozens of times, it has maintained its quality and soft feel. If you spray your mat with a little water before laying down the towel, it stays in place for your entire practice. It is also absorbent, but doesn't get sopping wet throughout hot yoga.

I do yoga on my back porch and Florida summers are brutal no matter how early in the morning it is. I was always slipping and sliding on my mat. This towel is the solution! It's soft, comfortable and super absorbent. From the other reviews, yes it does not always stay in place. I expected this might be an issue when I first purchased it but it hasn't bothered me that much. It has made a huge difference in my yoga routine. So glad I bought it!

I like the towel and the color is perfect, but it does not fit my lulu yoga mat. It's thinner than the mat. Not a huge deal or deal breaker, but I was hoping it would cover the whole mat. It also tends to slip a bit while doing hot yoga and I have to keep straightening it out. I have seen others in my yoga class where they don't have to ever straighten their towels and they stay put. So....I am looking into what brands they are all using to see if I can find one that will stay in place during the workout. I gave 4 stars because it's a good decent towel, just not quite what I wanted.

Durable, I have washed it several times - I just don’t put it in the dryer and hang it, as the instruction says but it dries very fast. Perfect for hot yoga! Easy to wash

I saw the reviews that say it works if you sweat enough but I decided to try it anyway. Believe them! This Gaiam mat towel doesn't grip the mat at all, so wet or dry it moves around a lot when changing poses. I've tried it in Bikram and Vinyasa classes, found it unworkable either way. It moves around too much and slips and slides too much for me to trust in simple poses. I've been loyal to 2 Manduka Yogitoes for 10+ years. Washing 5x/week they still look good as new! We'll worth the investment in my opinion. They grip the mat well no matter what. Sometimes in the less sweaty beginning of practice theres a slight slip factor (my hands can slip a bit in downward dog, the towel doesn't move). This is easily handled with a spritz before practice if you're less stable on your hands, but I'm often not bothered by it. I wouldn't recommend the Gaiam towel though

Great grip. Color is soooo nice. Washes up nice. Soft. This towel may be inexpensive but it is not cheap!

I use it with the Gaiam mat, and it does not hold in place, even when moist. I have to constantly interrupt my practice to rearrange the towel. For this price, they sell towels that either have flaps that hold onto the edges, a grippy side, or directly a mat that works for hot yoga. Using a regular microfiber towel on the yoga mat works better than this.

Perfect for covering over an exercise mat. Absorbs sweat and does not slip. Gives an extra layer when lying down on your mat. Makes a great gift too.
