Kinda works...
I got it to sharpen up my 55° wedge and about all it did is cleaned out the grooves really well. Since the tool didn't cost much, it's worth having around to clean out the grooves occasionally. I suggest using a mild lubricant to help the file slide along the grooves smoothly. Also I would place tape on the face on the toe and heel so you don't scratch your surface.

Cleans but doesn't really sharpen much.
I used this on three ancient Cleveland 588 wedges, and it did clean the grooves well, but it barely dented the patina in the bottom of the groves or the edges of them. It's a nice cleaning tool but I wouldn't call it a sharpener.
