Given the price, I was expecting this costume to be low quality, but I also wasn't going to throw several hundred dollars at a Halloween outfit either so I figured why not. I was actually pleasantly surprised after putting it on how well it looked. Yes the material is cheap, the shoulders & shin guards are thin foam and the belt and 'breathing box' is plastic, came with a face-only mask but when you put it on, there is no mistake who you are. So this is definitely 'good enough' to get the point across. After walking around in this all night, I'm actually glad the material was as light as it was and breathed easy. The size was big on me, 5'-7" 170 lbs, but was comfortable and gave me room to modify as needed.IMPORTANT NOTE: There is NO zipper access hole! I cut the seem there and put some peel-n-stick velcro on for easy access. Highly recommend that. Otherwise you have to undo the back and basically take the hole outfit off in order to take a leak. It's such a simple fix, but wish it came like this already.Upgrades: I opted to modify mine to get a little bit closer to the real deal, so I got the Rubies deluxe full head helmet, I cut the foam shin guards off and got high boots, got the recommended gloves.Even went so far as to get a small BT speaker (http://amzn.com/B014BJAGLS) that I could sync with my phone, hooked up a mic to the inside of the helmet and used a voice changer app that allowed me to sound like Vader. There was a slight delay but it was very effective doing the breathing sound myself. Everyone got a kick out of it, so well worth the effort.

The media could not be loaded. (Technically this is more of a four and a half star review)So I’m gonna be in a homecoming parade as Darth Vader, and I didn’t have a costume. So I go onto Amazon and see this for not that much money, but it comes with a lame half mask, looks kinda cheap and doesn’t come with gloves, but I buy it anyway. When I got it and tried it on, I was very presently surprised. Sure the foam was a little bent up (but not bad at all), but it actually looked like the real Darth Vader, unless you took a really close look and realized that the chest plate wasn’t metal. Also, the mask (even though it’s only half) looks more accurate than in the picture, which I was really happy about. It was pretty comfortable too, not too tight (but I’m also really skinny with a waist size of 32). All in all, for a price like this, I’m happily satisfied with this costume, just make sure to get gloves too.

I wanted to go dressed up to 3 different Halloween events as Darth Vader. I went to a Halloween party, A Halloween Dance, and I wore it too Work on the day of Halloween. When I was in the Vader costume everyone LOVED it. I was asked to take a bunch of photos with co-workers, people at the party, and I even won an award at the dance club in this costume. When I wore it at work, on my lunch break I went to Trader Joes to get some food, and two of the employees came up to me and were blown away because Darth Vader came to their store, and the funny thing was I didn't even have the mask on, and they still loved the costume! The cashier told me that seeing Darth Vader at Trader Joes made his whole day! Then when I left the store a Mother told her Daughter "look dear, there goes Darth Vader." The costume does get a lot of compliments and that is great, now for some not so great stuff. As others have mentioned the quality is so-so, the cape I got had 3 holes, I had to sew up, and the fake boots ripped a bit while I was putting it on. The mask is only a half mask, but I do have a full mask, so I wasn't concerned about it, but at the dance I went to I found that the half mask was better because it's easy to take off to have a drink or to talk to someone. The full mask I wore to work, and it was a bit of a pain to take it off when I wanted to have a drink or to talk to someone. The half mask does also have bad lenses, when you look through them things seem a bit blurry kind of like your underwater. One other big thing to note. The costume does NOT have a zipper!! This is a BIG problem because once your in the costume you don't want to take it off to use the restroom, so underneath the cod piece I cut a hole and used Velcro to close it up, so I could use the restroom with out having to take the costume off. This little "adjustment" made my life so much easier especially at work. If you do get this costume I highly recommend cutting a hole and either sewing in a zipper or use Velcro to close the opening. You'll be really glad you did! Other then that I was very happy with the costume, yes it's not the "Supreme" , but so what? Unless you plan to dress up like Vader everyday. I say save your money and buy this costume. Oh and one more thing. This costume doesn't come with gloves so you'll have to buy some and I would also suggest buying some tall boots. I have some tall Chippewa boots and Churchill gloves, and it really made the costume look great! Well in conclusion, I say buy the costume. I think you'll like it.

Loved this costume! I got the leather gloves to go with it and I already had a red lightsaber to give it the extra touches. It looked great! Very detailed. I'm short for a Darth Vader, but my 6 year old was Princess Leia, so we looked good together. Kids on Halloween night were shouting star wars quotes at me, waving to me, little kids wanting to come up and meet me. A kid wearing a very basic Vader costume looked at me and just said "awww man! Why doesn't mine look like that!?". Must be like what characters at Disney Theme parks feel like with the little fan kids going crazy. It was a great Halloween for us.The mask eyes are very easy to see through, even though nobody can see your eyes. It's a really good see through mesh. I wish I had a voice changer mask for the kids shouting star wars quotes, just to give them a good response, but those usually don't have very good visibility. That was the most important since I was walking around with small children on Halloween night.I'm 5'4", but I have wide shoulders so, the standard fit me perfect. It does have these long drape like things under the arm pits, I guess to make it look more full, but they just got in the way and are easy to step on if you bend down. I tied those together in the back under the cape. It just made the rest of it tighten up and fit better on my torso.
