Requires Periodic Tightening But Overall Great
I have a 2020 Mazda CX5 GT. This item ships in a box with three components, a base, a ball/collar that fits/screws on the base and the phone holder. Remove the base from the box, unscrew the collar and fit the ball into the base, put the collar back on and mount the holder. The whole thing snaps into the dash without any marring/scratching I could observe. The emergency flasher button was easily accessible through a cutout in the base. There was no interference with the Mazda Connect screen or the dash vents. The Connect screen was still easily viewable and accessible. You can adjust the view of the phone in the mount by loosening the collar and tightening. My Moto G6 fit fine in the mount. However, you have to be aware of the thickness of your phone with case. While my phone fit perfectly, larger models may not. When you seat the phone in the bottom of the mount the two "Y" arms on the sides close to gently hold the upper body of the phone. Again, a larger model phone may have an issue with that system. You can also easily keep the phone charged by using the power outlet in the storage tray and running a cable up to the bottom of the phone, if your phone has the power receptacle at the bottom. The only minor complaint I have is that extremely rough street conditions can cause the mount collar to loosen and then the view of the phone "flops" down. When I get in the car and place the phone in the holder, I take a second to "snug up" the collar. Most of the time that is not required. The beauty of the mounting system is that voice commands to the phone (Android) work flawlessly without the hyper sensitivity of Android Auto. To recap my rating, there is no "suction" with this mount, it snaps on to the dash, and there is only one way to fit it on so that is easy and merits a five star rating. For my phone. thickness is not an issue, therefore my 5 star rating, but others may need to mind this issue carefully. Finally, for "sheerness", whatever that may be, there is no obstruction of visibility or functionality of anything, including air flow from the vents. It took a lot of research to find this item and determine how it works but in the month or so I've had it, it's been great. Now, all I have to hope for is that my next phone approximates the same dimensions.

Works well for the price
This phone holder fits my Mazda cx-5 perfectly and does the job. It’s not super high-end, but it holds my phone securely and is easy to install. Also easy to remove as needed. Great budget-friendly option if you just need something simple that works.

Better than expected - Stands up to back roads punishment!
I purchased this cell phone holder because it was the only one I could find that didn't clamp on to the AC vents or suction onto the dash or windshield, but was actually made for my CX-5. I loved the fact that it snaps onto the area around the vents and looks like it was custom made. Nice sturdy fit. I was hesitant about the fact that the sides close around the phone and are held in place only through the weight of the phone sitting in the cradle. I live off the beaten path with 5 miles of privately maintained dirt roads - not the smoothest of rides to say the least! I feared that the phone would either just bounce out of the holder or that the holder itself would just bounce around. Boy was I wrong! This cell phone holder works great! It securely holds my phone and the holder itself does not slip out of alignment.

Fits Perfectly on 2021 Mazda CX-5 Signature
This piece snaps right in to my 2021 Mazda CX-5 Signature model perfectly. I also love that the piece that the phone sits in is a separate piece that fits to the dash itself. So if you ever feel like taking the phone holder piece off, for whatever reason, it easily slides out and you can keep the other piece snapped to the car for future use. The only thing that bugs me is that I have to take my phone cover off for it to fit the phone holder. I can't knock off a star for the phone case not fitting cause thats my phone size issue. But I do wish the phone holder piece had adjustable sizes for thickness of phone. I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max for anyone wondering, and the case is pretty thin already, but still too thick. But honestly not a huge deal to take the case off while driving because having the phone up on display is so much more convenient than putting it in the cup holder.

Wrong measurements and cheap feeling
The measurements on the width of the phone/phone case are completely wrong! My iPhone 17 pro max with phone case did not even come close to firing and it’s not a thick case. My phone with case was .55 mm and this says it will fit .59 mm which is incorrect

Carbon fiber model doesn't work sideways
Just FYI, the cradle arms on the carbon fiber model grab onto the sides of the phone through gravity: the phone sits on the bottom arm, and its weight pulls the bottom arm down and thus the side arms in toward the phone. Not sure what would happen if the car went over a solid bump. This also means that, even though the cradle can rotate 360º, you can't really use the phone as a GPS in landscape mode because the phone sometimes stops providing the necessary weight to keep the side arms touching the sides of the phone. I've been using the GPS guidance in portrait mode, though, and it's been fine, to be fair. The build quality is a bit lower than I would like. The plastic feels kind of thin and a little too flexible, particularly on everything except the cradle itself (i.e. the ball-joint mechanism, the dashboard clip mount, the clip that wedges into the dashboard mount). I would prefer that it feel a bit more solid and stable. The cradle will just barely work on an iPhone 13 mini with a Spigen Tough Armor case on it, but the phone doesn't really sit properly in the hooks that are supposed to hold it in place. On the positive side, it really "fits like a glove" on the dashboard: the unit clicks into place on the dash and does not feel out of place at all; the cutout for the emergency blinker button is perfect. Overall, I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could. If the build quality were good enough to be pleased about, I'd give it a 4.

Fits in to the console well but the item twists and moves all over the place although it's never fallen off. For example the phone will twist sideways when taking sharp corners.

The holder that fit the Mazda Cx5 panel was not included, only a small pin that goes in the vent. The holder itself was super weak, there is no way it can hold a phone horisontly.

I didn't want one of those phone holders that mount on the vent fins... and my car doesn't have a CD player (for that mount option)... this model is molded specifically for my car model. It clips on the dash frame... yet gives access to the hazard switch and the vent dials. TWO THUMBS UP.

Took some time getting to the uk but this is a fantastic product. Fits amazingly, looks good in the car and is very useful. Slightly annoying that the hazard lights are under the phone but it's nothing major

MfG Igor
