Review: Great resource for CA-1s. - Incredibly useful for anesthesia residents, especially in your first year. This book provides some basic information about the procedures, surgical considerations (positioning, EBL, abx, M&M, etc), and anesthetic considerations (pre-op, intra-op, and post-op). Obviously, you will have to learn about your surgeon-specific preferences/considerations, but this is an excellent source to obtain general background. As a CA-1, I use this all the time. I'll update this when I'm further on in my training to comment on how useful it continues to be.

Incredibly useful for anesthesia residents, especially in your first year. This book provides some basic information about the procedures, surgical considerations (positioning, EBL, abx, M&M, etc), and anesthetic considerations (pre-op, intra-op, and post-op). Obviously, you will have to learn about your surgeon-specific preferences/considerations, but this is an excellent source to obtain general background. As a CA-1, I use this all the time. I'll update this when I'm further on in my training to comment on how useful it continues to be.
