PETE the CAT: Four Paws Up for a Surefire Future Classic!
PETE THE CAT AND HIS FOUR GROOVY BUTTONS by Eric Litwin 5.0/5 *s After only a few pages, you and your young reader will become fans of the coolest cat known to children's books. Pete the CAT adds a new level to the goal of "making learning fun", and your first venture into his groovy, hip world will surely not be your last. Pete's retro coolness will appeal to adults as well as kids, making it a pleasure to read (or listen to), even over and over (and over and over again). For the young artists inspired by Pete: the series' brightly-colored illustrations are delightful. (You're likely to find the beloved children in your life starting to draw their own masterpieces of Pete and his feline world, opening up another world of creative expression.) Many children's books are filled with beautiful art, but art that would be overwhelming for a child (or even most adults) to attempt to model. Pete is drawn in a more simplistic way; kids will be pleased at their abilities to create their own likenesses of this charming cat. An added bonus: this particular title (in hardback) comes with a downloadable audio-visual version of the story. The catchy song, sung by a group of children, is easy to learn. After a listen or two, don't be surprised if kids will be singing the song as you read the book together! Pete the CAT and His Four Groovy Buttons inspires kids to learn and be creative on many levels. It's by far one of the best titles I've seen in Children's books, and I'm betting it will be a classic these kids will read to their own children someday. (You would be wise to check out "Pete's" other books when you add this future favorite to your child's library!) -VERY Highly Recommended (* this is an unsolicited review by a customer who paid for this book. I'm obviously a very enthusiastic fan.) - Doc Aloha Reviews, 6/18/2015

Best and All Time Favorite
This book is definitely all of my students' all time favorite. I have to buy a copy every couple of years because it's always well loved and well used in the classroom. Thank you but it would be nice to have a discount on this book once in a while.

My 3 year old's new favorite book! Hardcover is durable enough for toddlers
My newly turned 3 year old absolutely adores this book and requests to read it multiple times every night. This is the first hardcover book I've bought my son and I was initially worried he'd have it destroyed by the end of the first night (he eagerly and roughly turns pages). Fortunately, the pages are durable and have a glossy/laminated feel to them. He has definitely bent and/or creased MANY pages after dozens of read throughs, but not a single page has actually ripped. The story itself is very simple and repetitive, but these are great qualities in a children's book. Pete's button song is so catchy and fun, I find myself singing it to my toddler randomly throughout the day. Best of all, there's not a lot of text on each page, which is great for little ones who don't have much of an attention span. It's worth noting the illustrations are bold, adorable, and definitely unique to the Pete the Cat series. My son is 3 years old and is obsessed with this book, but I feel like he would have enjoyed it just as much at 2 or 2.5 years old. So don't be put off by the "4-7 year old" age range listed on this product page.

A fun interactive book!
My family love this book and as a parent it’s one of my favorites to read before bed. I also highly recommend the audio book with the music. The song in this book is fun. My kids follow along great and sing the songs and respond with the numbers and saying “goodness no”. It’s very interactive and I really appreciate that it teaches early subtraction. It’s more of a preschool-1st grade book but it’s a fun read and my kids love it.

Probably the best children's/babies story book we have bought...
We got Pete the Cat - I love my white shoes first and this had become my (very young;now 14 months) sons favourite book. He points at Pete, the bird, dances to the song parts and the repetition is vital. The Four Groovy buttons book is v similar. I like the tune more and it's a bit easier to remember so makes it much easier all round. It's epic stuff and it's got a nice theme/moral. We love Pete the Cat.
