MAGNAVOX DV220MW9 DVD Player VCR Combo (Renewed)

This item was double-boxed and arrived in great shape. It included all cables necessary for hook-up and was easy to install. Works great!

I've had three of these. The first one lasted two years..so this past January of 2024..I purchased another one..I'm pretty sure it was from a different vendor..it was a silver in color..so knew it was a different model even though I matched the model number when purchasing it.. .well it stopped working last week..I only got six months out of it..not happy about that at all and I let Amazon know about it. However this one I received looks exactly like my first one I had..I hooked it up yesterday and so far no complaints.

I purchased this renewed DVD/VCR reluctantly as there were no options to purchase a new one. The DVD player worked fine but when I tried playing / recording 2 VHS tapes the player ate the tapes. I sent the sellers an email after the product malfunctioned but never received a response. I didn’t expect a refund but would’ve liked the seller to at least respond with an option for replacing the player.

This product was refurbished. The VCR / DVD works well. I can watch all my old tapes & disks on it. The remote is not perfect, working sometimes and not others, but many refurbished products don't even come with a remote so I am not very upset.

If I didn't know any better, I would think that this DVD/VCR combo was brand new. I had ordered another from someone else who had gotten good reviews which came in an undamaged cardboard box with flimsy small bubble wrap and few noodles. The DVD tray door was broken, it was missing a fast-forward button, and the power button had been pushed into the machine and over to one side. The return was accepted. I was leery of ordering another, even from another seller. I am so glad that I took the chance. This seller packed my renewed DVD/VCR combo in a heavy-duty cardboard box, nestled in a bed of large bubble wrap. The remote control was in its own plastic sleeve as were the other items that came with it. I was so impressed. It came with easy instructions on how to hook it up to a new TV AND to an old TV which mine is. It even came with the gadgets to accomplish hooking it up. I am not good with electronics, but this seller made it so easy with the directions, which included a phone # to a hot line in case I had problems. I didn't need the phone #. I have a lot of good VHF tapes and now I can watch them as well as my DVD's. It works like a dream. I am so pleased. Also, the seller got right on mailing it, so it came a week early. Even if I had to wait longer than I did, the wait would have been worth it. I couldn't more happy.

I have been waiting for a couple of years to find one of these at a reasonable price so that I could watch all of my mom's VHS tapes. If I didn't know that it was a renewed product, I would have thought that it was brand new. I was also impressed by how carefully it was packaged. It was easy to connect to my TV and I am still watching videos.

The remote was not compatible with the VCR/DVD. Would not work even though we put new batteries in.

I tested the VCR and the image quality was fine. However the VCR ate my tape for no reason when I went to eject it. I finally managed to get my tape out of the VCR but not without a 15 seconds of my video from November 1995 being permanently damaged. So I packed the VCR and immediately returned it to Amazon the following day for a full refund. And guess what? Amazon still hasn't refunded the returned product even though it's been a month now that I have sent it back and that they even confirmed me that they have receive it. Instead, I get the usual runaround with dates to follow-up with them being constantly pushed later (now it's 2024-07-28). Buy at your own risk. Maybe you'll get an unit that is completely flawless. Keep in mind that you might get a defective product, and if the case you're in for a quite a ride as far getting your refund in a timely manner.

This item only worked once an the second twe used it it stopped working and kept our TAPE not impressed at all? Ps we would like our TAPE sent back to us please.
