This is a pretty heavy duty router, and seems to be pretty well made. I've haven't done much routing with it yet. Be careful when you turn the lever that raises the router over it's base. I did so in the kitchen and the spring is very strong and the router base bruised my hand because it the router rose so quickly. The only real problem with the router is with the adapter to use router bits with a 1/4 inch shank. I put a 1/4 inch router bit into the quarter inch adapter, then inserted the adapter into the router. I'm a pretty big guy and tightened the chuck as hard as I could. The bit hit a hard place in the wood and spun almost all the way out of the adapter, then broke. I only have router bits with a 1/4 inch shank, but I guess I will have to invest in some bits with a 1/2 inch shank.

Solid purchase, cut through oak and pine just the same. I tried to bog it down and found it hard to do. Still going strong.

Love this router! This is almost a commercial grade router. Very heavy duty. The plunge is smooth and the router is super easy to set up. I would definitely buy again but I think this one will last my life time.

Great router. It came with a letter that said instead of using their template guide I could a plate that would let me use my own brass template guides. I have to hand it to Wen they listen and fix any problem the customers have. The new plate cost $10 but it is worth it. I highly recommend this router.

Wow. Great deal. Not as fancy as my 1617EVS. Lots of plastic parts. Having said that, this is IDEAL for a router table or, as I use it, in a slab flattening jig. Decent speed control. Comes with some parts you likely won't ever use but the case is kind of nice for storage. I am impressed so far.
