The bonding between layers is too strong so the foam tears rather than the layer peeling off **Q: Is this stiff enough to use as lift out tool layers in a peli-case, or would it need plastic/mdf glued to the bottom?** A: Hi, It depends on how deep the tool recesses are cut in to the foam and how heavy the items/tools are. We would say it is not designed to be lifted out with tools/items still in place. **Q: Is the foam a high density foam, very firm?** A: Yes it’s high density. Easily cut to fit, if a little too cellular to be completely neat. Helping to keep sharpened edges true for longer. Would buy again if needed. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Use a sharp scalpel and have a few blades to hand *by R***L on 29 May 2020* Brilliant foam to use, the layers make it super easy to quickly tear out and achieve a flat surface. Really easy to cut and with it being some what firm it doesn't fall apart. My only advice is to ensure you have a handful of sharp scalpel blades to hand as you would be surprised at how fast they go blunt. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rough surface *by P***E on 1 May 2024* The size for the price is fantastic-I have enough for 5 trays with a bit left over. The other sizes all seemed to be around 400mm width but the extra size worked out with less wastage. I used a router bit in a dremel and cut easy-the one thing I did not like the surface was a quite rough.
