Good, sharp utility knife.
This replaced an ancient Chicago Cutlery utility knife that had been sharpened to the point it could no longer hold its edge. I find this a worthy successor. I tend to use a santoku or intermediate chef knife for complex prep, I use this for all the kitchen tasks where I just need a sharp blade for a few minutes. This knife has good balance, and is relatively light in my hand. I can be precise, as I can with a paring knife, but I can take on other tasks that require a full blade, such as cutting and trimming a chicken breast, or slicing an onion or tomato. The edge is sharp, and so far, I can maintain sharpness just by using a steel every third or fourth use.Overall, I am quite satisfied, and would recommend this knife to others who just need something to deal with simple cutting tasks. This is a really great knife if someone is just starting out, cooking for one, and has no other really sharp knives available.

2# favorite knife in my roll!
Definitely my favorite petty. Sharp, easy to reshaped, feels good to use, a great edition to your collection

It’s not black, but...
Super sharp & light, straight out the box. The blade is thin, the handle is small and it’s weight is too light. I’ve got medium sized hands and it feels like a toy. Overall it feels cheap. Very nimble in the hand, though- so it’s very good for light chopping and peeling, heavier tasks however are no bueno. Got this because Of Bon App review. Skeptical as to how long this will last. Hard to say w/o longer testing. All that said- my partner has small hands and she loves it.

Great daily use knife for peeling, cutting or chopping!
MAC consistently delivers with their knives. This will be our 5th addition to our MAC collection and we wish it was incorporated sooner. This is an all around great knife that we end up grabbing for daily use (cutting apples, vegetables, de-membraining ribs, peeling). The length compared to an average pairing just gives it that much more versatily.

Solid cutlery....
I have worked in the industry for over 20 years as a chef. I have always used German knives and have been satisfied for the most part. This knive is amazing. Lightweight has nice balance and is very very sharp. It is my first MAC knife but it will not be my last. Just follow the simple instructions for care, and you will be set. My evaluation is solely based on my initial observation. I’ll try it tonight at work and update. And if you suffer from any hand conditions as I do, these lightweight knives are perfect.

Good Knifes
I’ve use these knives before and they’re really good. Only reason I left a four-star review is because mine came in all stainless. Not the Teflon coated as advertised. Not a huge deal. But just something to be aware of.

Sharp but that's it
It a nice sharp knife but I only dropped it once on the wooden floor and a good portion of the tip just bent in 20 degree angle. I've had 15 dollar knifes that were tougher than this.

BLADE IS NOT BLACK
Knife does not have a black blade as pictured. That’s the only reason for four instead of five stars. Super sharp, lightweight knife, great for trimming cuts of meat, and fine work on fruit and veg. Def do not regret buying, but was counting on that sexy black blade. It would’ve looked great on my magnet
