My second pair
I live in the PNW I'm 69 years old and do a lot of easy to moderate hiking in all types of weather. I was looking for a waterproof hiker and found this one. I have worn it when walking almost everyday, it's that comfortable. They are light, but sturdy. They have kept me dry and blister free for a year and a half. The outside was starting to look a little worn and I was worried I wouldn't be able to find another pair when they needed to be replaced so I looked and found my size on Amazon. No other sites had my size left in these shoes. I normally wear a 7 1/2 to 8. My foot is a little wide, but not wide enough for a "wide width" shoe. I got an 8M in these and they fit me perfectly with plenty of room for my wool socks. No pinched toes or rubbed heels. The arch support is there, but not overwhelming. No pressure points in these shoes. They have just the right amount of grip for wet, tree litter covered trails, but also are comfy on paved trails. They are stylish enough to wear for everyday, but do the hard work on the trails. The upper surface seems to repel dirt and wet very well. I'm so glad I got another pair of these. It's not easy to find the perfect low-cut hiker.

Very comfortable walking shoe
This is my third pair of these shoes. I've been very impressed with how well they hold up, as I do a lot of walking. The outside heels on most of my walking shoes tend to wear down pretty quickly, and these have lasted longer than any other walking shoes I have had, and I've had plenty. They also seem to be truly waterproof, as advertised. Plus, I like the looks of them, and I've had a lot of compliments on them. Most of all, they are comfortable, and fit my feet very well. They aren't the least expensive walking shoes around, but to me they are worth the money for their comfort and durability.

Very comfortable right out of the box
Perfect fit. I ordered my usual size in wide. I almost ordered a size up due to other reviews saying they fit tight. I did not find that to be the case- almost too wide/ big - so don’t size up. I think the look is very nice for a hiking shoe. I am a little concerned about the support for overpronation- but will see with time. The color is most definitely blue, not gray. Cannot attest to the water resistance yet, but other reviews state they are.

They fit like they were meant for me.
I know a lot of people are saying that the shoe wasn't as wide as expected, and I honestly have never bought a wide width shoe before so I cannot say if it's as it is supposed to be or not. That much said, I have a huge bunion on one of my feet, the other being normal sized due to successful surgery. I initially tried these shoes on before purchasing them (thank you Amazon for that option), and they fit perfectly on both my feet with just minor adjustments of the laces. Because these shoes are a hard leather, I went ahead and used a shoe stretcher overnight on the shoe that will be on my foot with the bunion (stretcher also purchased from Amazon), as I wanted to make sure there would be no pressure on my bunion at all. I also removed the foam inserts and put in my own arch supports. I've now walked about 50 miles in them and they have been amazing to walk in. The only complaint I could have is they are not cute at all, but for a waterproof sturdy shoe that actually fits and doesn't cause me pain, I'll take the ugly. I hope someday I can find the hightop version in my size as they are significantly cuter.

Great Fit! Way To Go New Balance! Stable Walking/Hiking Feel
I greatly enjoy this hiking shoe! I tried this on at a New Balance Store and was glad that the sales person told me to go online for a better price, my size happened to be nearly half off from what the store was asking (yes I know Amazon prices fluctuate but it worked out for me). The stability of the heel/ankle is important to me and these shoes are wonderful additions, and have some water protection to make it easier to clean off after muddy hikes. I recommend this product for a good hiking shoe.Update 06-18-2019: Went hiking last weekend in a few parks/areas around the Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois. These stood up just fine! Great! Water, mud, feet didn't get wet, and important as well, my feet didn't hurt at the end of the day. I will state this 'ankle stability' didn't do as much as I thought, but again I was on some very rocky/steep/uneven terrain, but, my ankles didn't hurt/get twisted so perhaps it is doing something. I would recommend this shoe. I wore the shoe every day without problems.

Too small
I ordered the extra wide shoe, but still too tight. Too short too.

Excellent product
The shoe fits perfectly and is very comfortable. I needed a waterproof shoe because I work in my yard frequently and I irrigate. This weekend was the first time I wore them while irrigating. I stepped in water and mud and they held up perfectly. They are also easy to clean...just wipe them with a wet rag and they look good. Money well spent.

Very comfortable sturdy shoe
This is my third pair of these shoes. They are comfortable and completely waterproof. I've read the reviews, some like them as I do but they don't work for everyone. I used to hike all the time but for hiking I wore boots. These shoes are great for walking on the unforgiving city sidewalks with (or without) my dog. The toe box is ample and in general they fit me well. I have worn these in pouring rain, sleet and snow and when I took them off my socks were dry. It's hard to know how a shoe is going to fit until you try it on. You can always send them back and get a different size. Amazon and NB are always very accommodating about that.

Fits small
Beautifully made shoe but the size guide is misleading. I measured my foot, and the recommended size allowed zero extra room in the shoe. It was a tight fit. Probably advisable to wear a hiking sock when measuring foot - the Size Guide seems not to take that into account.
