The spikes are huge and sharp. I would buy a larger size next time. We live on a steep street that is usually covered with ice during the winter. These give me complete confidence that I'm not going to slip or fall. Although they're not rated for technical use, I once used them on an ice slope during a Search and Rescue mission. The only down-side is that you need to remember to remove them before you step on to your deck or inside your house because they'll scratch your wood/floor. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars excellent traction on snow/ice *by L***N on Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2021* These are great for winter hiking on icy trails and hills or just preventing a fall on your driveway. The only problem is eventually the metal loop will cut through the rubber harness even though it is thicker at that point. Perhaps a plastic eyelet or using recycled tire rubber would prevent that. I used plastic zip ties to keep previous cleats on. The velco strips are also an improvement over other brands.
