Nice calming lotion for itchy skin

I purchased this lotion, because I have fibromyalgia and part of my symptoms are itchy skin and a itchy facial rash each morning. I have extremely sensitive skin and also practice a vegan/cruelty free lifestyle so I was looking for something natural and not tested on animals. First I will say that I was disappointed when the pump didn't work and I have to unscrew it to get the lotion out, but I understand that could be a random fluke. Second people with itchy skin generally have sensitive skin, I know at least I do, I have multiple sensitivities and not just my skin. So the lotion smell and such was a bit over powering. Luckily I am not allergic to or overly sensitive to tea tree oil. I knew the product contained it, I just didn't realize it would be quite that potent. As far as the lotion properties itself, it worked fine for putting on my face. It is a rather thick lotion so I avoid my forehead and nose unless I am home for the day, because otherwise they become greasy. I stick with my cheeks and chin, that's where I breakout and itch anyway. It is a nice and refreshing lotion and if I am not too itchy when I apply it, it does help a great deal and I do like it. If I am already too itchy, like I said, it is refreshing, but it is nothing like a medicated cream. So for minor itching, itch prevention, and dry/mildly itchy skin it's great I'd say.

This stuff smells like tea tree oil, which isn't a BAD smell, but my husband always thinks there's a gas leak in the house when I put it on. However, it REALLY REALLY REALLY stops the itching. I don't know why. Fantastic for eczema. Also great for severe eczema is zinc oxide cream (though it doesn't stop the itching, it reduces the inflammation and prevents recurrence) namely Earth's Best Organic Diaper Relief Ointment. If you suffer from chronic eczema like I do, you can send me a thank you card when you get this Derma E itch lotion and then also the Earth's Best stuff. It will fix you right up. Also crazily helpful: quit dairy and gluten, especially if you also have asthma. Your welcome.

Unlike other moisturizers this product lasts even after you wash your hands. The tea tree oil scent is overwhelming. The scent is as strong as paint thinner but only lasts about 10 minutes . If you can get past the temporary strong odor this product is a must. I do lineman work outdoors in winter weather so my hands take an extreme beating every day. This is the only product that makes my hands look 20 years younger and lasts. Tea tree oil stinks but this is a great product.

I had a severe case of hives, rashes and itching for nearly 4 years as a result of having "Leaky Gut Syndrome" which caused my immune system to go ballistic at nearly everything I ate. The itching was incredibly miserable and I suffered almost 24/7. Stepping out of the shower made me feel like I had thousands of red ants biting me.I tried a variety of over-the counter anti-itch products in addition to prescriptions from my doctor and none were as effective as this. There were times where I needed IMMEDIATE relief...and this stuff did the trick. It's effect is nearly instantaneous producing a soothing, "Mentholatum" type of relief. In the course of a year and a half, I probably went through at least 30 bottles of this stuff. But it was well worth it, as it saved my sanity. For some reason however, it doesn't work as well on the face as it produces a burning sensation most likely due to the face's thin layer of skin.Amazon has the best price (Whole Foods sells it for over $12 a bottle).UPDATE: They've changed the bottle it once came in which has resulted in defective spout dispensers in nearly 50% percent of the bottles I get (I'm on the Subscribe and Save program and receive 3 per month). Please reconsider going back to the old bottle.

I ordered this cream secondary to itching from CKD (chronic kidney disease) and all I can say is when I put it on my arms, the scent was like turpentine. I had to immediately wash it off. Since it says non-returnable, I called and spoke with a customer representative who said she would issue a credit to my account and to throw it away. Just be warned. Don't expect a pleasant scent from this cream.
