Fantastic flashlight. Bright light. Wonderful design that allows use of large battery or 4 double A's which greatly reduces weight and cost. Definitely plan to buy more for boat house and vehicles.

Works great and lots of light -I am just using the small AA cells which it is nice to have it take them or take a full size 6 volt. Don't want to buy the expensive overpriced 6 volt cells.

I've always preferred the Eveready lantern flashlight w the 6V battery. The 6V lasts forever and no one can snag the batteries out of it for something else and leave you stranded when you're in an emergency situation and end up w a flashlight without working batteries. That said, Eveready changed their design to smaller batteries (C or D?) bc ppl complained about the 6V. So, I came across this brand in a local store and was pleased with it being comparable to my beloved Eveready lantern. I like having the lantern style, one for each room of the house. If you lose power, these sit perfectly on their ends to light up a room well; enough to easily navigate your surroundings. This Dorcy brand was smart enough to stick w the 6V capability plus making a battery insert that also takes 4 AA batteries as well, giving you 2 battery options. Each flashlight also comes w 4 AA batteries. I purchased 2 and received one red and one blue one. I will be purchasing more. They are not heavy to handle, my daughter does well with them and give off plenty of light. I don't often use them outside of the house but the beam goes a long way and I'd feel confident using them outside for sure. Just an FYI, for those of you that have Dollar General stores nearby, they carry their brand of 6V batteries at $4-5 a piece and work great. I grab one to have as extra ever so often when I'm there. Hope this helps someone.

Good simple light. AA or 6v lantern batteries. Worth it. Keep it in the tool chest.

Impressive, for a $15 flashlight. Reaches out well in the dark.

I used the flashlight outside when I took my dogs out for 2 weeks. It worked fine. Then I used it when I cleaned out a big closet with no lighting. It was on for about 5 minutes and died. New batteries don't work. I took it to a specialized battery store and they said it was no good.

Flashlight came on time and works. It's not red it's yellow. So if you want a red flashlight you may or may not get one. I give this an average rating for that. I haven't used it yet but it turns on and seems bright. It's not expensive so it's a decent deal

Great light, has been used fishing, and camping. Decent illumination with a good throw. Very light with the versatility of either battery source. Its just as good as the old school ones you remember, just no light bulb to burn out fast!

Everybody needs a good flashlight for emergencies like power outages and investigating loud bumps in the night! It doesn't need a lot of expensive batteries and the light is bright ...... in other words,,,,,,all good!

Needed a floating lantern for boat safety , I usually buy these type of lanterns when on sale with the 6 volt battery ( which is usually cheaper than just the battery) but I saw that this one had a perfect option, since trying to find 6 volt batteries lately, to not much success, I seen that this one has an adapter for AA batteries 👍😁 and you can use either in this light. It work’s excellent I was very pleasantly surprised by how bright it is and how great of a price it is. Haven’t used enough yet to see how long the AA batteries last but I’m sure it will be good enough for what I need 👍😎 as well there’s enough space inside the battery adapter to store extra AA batteries too. So far loving it!! Definitely worth buying for anyone needing a good floating lantern for their boat! 👍👍

i like the adapter that lets you use 4 aa batteries instead of the more expensive 6 volt battery. i wish they sold the adapter separately for my other flashlights. good buy.nice and light.would recommend

Excellent find! Like the flexibility of using either AA or 6V batteries, especially when I need a backup option for power. Lasts a decent amount of time on a single set of batteries. its also incredibly bright!
