There are better options for the money *by J***B on July 31, 2018* I think these are better than those combo shrink tube solder gimmicks. Other people seem to have good luck with those but I don't. Probably because I typically solder 2 differing gauges of wire together in poor locations with poor lighting. With these, I just slide some adhesive shrink far up the wire, lightly crimp this butt connector onto a short strip wire pair, and heat the center of the connector until it is good and hot. The solder flows right into the slot and I can tell when the solder is coming out the ends off the butt. Let it cool a little, slide the shrink down over the connection and apply normal heat shrink process. More durable and water proof in the end. These other Solder Seal dealies may be fine for car audio or something, but for business, this is the method I count on.Update: I since received some other non-insulated butt connectors from 3M and Morris and Ginsco, and in comparison, these Milapeak connectors are definitely on the thin side. It is still a decent assortment and works OK if soldering because the thinner metal allows them to heat faster. That being said, if you don't plan on soldering, I suggest you look at the thicker connectors like 3M and Morris. A little more money but more substantial. For hobbyists, this is probably fine. For industrial, I'd go better. I got sucked in by the idea of an assortment, so if that's what you want, go with the Ginsco instead. ### ⭐⭐ Not Impressed *by P***Y on January 28, 2019* I suspected that at the cost it was too good to be true. I was right.I have installed 10's of thousands of connectors in my career.The quality of these connectors is marginal at best.
