Like others have said, remove the smooth outer layers then it's good to go. I haven't noticed any significant "break in" time at all. Every bit as good as the high priced cotton you buy at the local smoke shops and you get much much more. I'll definitely buy again if I can ever work my way through this first package. Btw I use a profile mesh rda and it is almost perfect for it. It was my first experience using cotton pads, and it definitely has been enjoyable. The cotton does last a few days longer than the organic cotton balls I was using which is nice. I still rewick weekly though, but I used it until the cotton burned through, which took like a week and a half. Good value for money, and the flavor is top tier as well. I'm happy with my purchase. For 3mm coils, I used about a quarter of a pad.
