Needs improvement
2nd update: an ah ha moment. My last attempt to see if I was doing something wrong, not that the manual helps. Bluetooth connection must be established between the watch, iConnect app, and in my case iPhone, when using at all times or the data will be in accurate or non existent. I really only use for sleep data, the HR readings still seem inaccurate. In last 2 weeks if I made sure it was Bluetooth connected the sleep data has not failed or dumped. There are enough cons to not recommend this device, and the manual and how-to is all ad hoc, but if only used to see some indication of sleep, it’s with $30.UPDATE:this is my 2nd watch, it has now failed as well after y months use. I cannot recommend this watch. 1st returned and replaced with this review update. The device dumps historical data, sleep, for example, so this is a big con. Also, how you pair or, and keep it paired, is not intuitive, nor explained in the “manual”. You basically have to have it right with your Bluetooth device at all times or it disconnects. You must make sure it’s “ready” when you use it. The HR data runs very high, is only on the hour & half hour, or manual reading. I get the minimum out of this I need, namely, sleep data for the current day(s). Probably still worth $30, but barely. I now only use it to track sleep.I thought I would try this “smart” watch since it’s Timex, and I’m a Timex guy. It’s been roughly 2 weeks of every day use. The manual is useless, other than very basics to get it up and running. Not much out there on the internet either. I primarily got it for the sleep monitor feature, and a watch that is indiglo-like for sleep and dark where you want to see the time. I get data, it’s not lost, at least not yet. Last night, an exception. I woke at 3am, watch was dead, and it looks like the sleep data for the night did not thus record. The data says I get way more deep sleep than I would have thought. If it’s accurate that’s a good thing. If it’s not, we’ll, hmm. The time mode randomly switches among the 3 available. No way you can get 10mdays of battery charge. I average about 3 or 4 days. The wrist turn to turn it on is iffy. The HRM seems to stop recording after some time lapses, so on the dashboard that data is suspect. The resin strap is awesome, the strap is quick release if you wanted to switch out bands, which I do. Overall, for $30 it’s not a huge investment. Right now I’m leaning towards keeping it, if for no other reasons I can sleep with it on (light feature at night), and I get sleep data. I’m well within the return window and the jury is still out. I do see why it has very low ratings. Hope this review helps.

Incredibly disappointed. Save up your money for a FitBit.
I purchased two of these fitness trackers for my husband and I and we were super excited to get them! He already tracks our walks and runs on his IPhone through RunKeeper, but since I don’t have a phone and our gym is closed due to Covid-19, I wanted something to track my calories and mileage.I guess we should have spent the extra cash on an actual Fitbit and not whatever after market thing this is. The look of it is really nice, hence the two stars. But after taking them out for a jog/walk, they did not accurately read steps or miles. We used these watches simultaneously with RunKeeper and Apple Health, the Timex IConnect Actives we’re off by about 2.5 miles and almost 200 calories. The lack of a touch screen is annoying, but the lack of instructions is even worse. The small fold out it came with is laughable.I tried recording my sleep two nights ago and it picked it up fine, so I wore it again last night. This morning when I went to connect it up to the app...nothing. It failed to track my sleep. I wore it the same way I wore the way he the previous night. And oh, the app. FYI, there’s two for the IConnect, and the first one is old and doesn’t work. Timex just hasn’t removed it from App stores. The app that’s supposed to work with these watches is the IConnect 2, but they don’t tell you that any where. There’s no support line for these and when you try to leave feedback through the app, the app crashes. On a new IOS!The watch drops connection from the app frequently, and sometimes to the point where you have to enter in all your initial info in again, which is incredibly annoying. But the whole point of this watch is to be an activity tracker. The app has more activities on it than the watch, so they essentially want you to use the app on your phone instead of the watch? The heart monitor only tracks your BPMs every 30 minutes and seems to be initially inaccurate. The misreading of miles and calories is unforgivable. That’s the whole point of this watch! I don’t care about receiving notifications, (which come through looking fresh outta 2002 Nokia style), I want to track my workouts and jogs.By the way, don’t put weights on your “Sports” part of the menu if you don’t offer tracking weight lifting. Just..why??Pretty disappointed in this product. Would like to return it but the packaging was accidentally thrown out. Don’t be us and save up for a quality product.

Timex smartwatch
We purchased this smart watch for our son for Christmas. We didn’t want to spend over a hundred bucks on an Apple Watch and found this to be an affordable compromise. Our son loves it and calls it an Apple Watch dupe. With the Timex my son is able to sync his texts from his iPhone 8, track his steps, get the weather, record notes, etc. In short it can do everything a 13 year old would need. I actually ended up purchasing another for my husband who works in construction and didn’t want to spend money on an Apple Watch out of fear it would get destroyed. The Timex has held up even with him wearing it to work. I’m thinking about getting in for myself now too!

Amazing!!
I love this watch, it is amazing! Though I have only had it for a day! I am a runner and it will work perfectly; has a stopwatch, counts steps, and tracks distance, perfect for distance running! You can even set your phone up and use your watch to take pictures! Totally worth it!

Get the next model up.
It's great and mostly does what I expected it to do especially for the price. However, having one button, a really dated interface, and it's basically the kids version of the line up I wouldn't buy it again. Timex is really diluting their brand with this one.

Didn't work right.
The watch wouldn't charge right. The screen didn't work right. The support website didn't exist. The watch wasn't on the Timex site. And the phone number wasn't accessible on the weekend. I returned it.
