The only compromise I made was... I wanted an "ankle" or slightly taller "boot". These Gelatos matched my other, picky preferences:• Black,• Slip Resistant,• Size 7.5• Without "breathable" holes in the outer material. (About 24-months ago, I bought a pair of "Sketchers" shoes. I especially liked their included "Goga Max" insole. What I didn't realize at the time, though, was that the holes in the outer material would make my feet cold. For a "Runner" or someone with sweaty feet, this is fine but I wanted a year 'round, all-purpose shoe and when Winter hit, those shoes were COLD!)• My last criteria was to have shoes with NO LEATHER. (A few decades ago, I realized that "leather" products do look good and last a long time BUT they cost the lives of other Beings. So I made the decision to never wear leather again. I changed-out my belt, shoes and wallet.)These Gelatos seem to be holding-up to the outdoor cold and the sometimes wet floors where we work. When I first got these shoes, I pressed-down on the insole with my finger and it didn't feel as supportive as the "Goga Max". However, after wearing them for a full week now, their comfort has surprised me. The "Goga Max" is still better but it took an entire week of wearing the Gelatos for my feet to feel a bit tired at the end of that last day. This could simply be due to their "breaking-in" period. Of course, if I find that my feet are more tired than normal, I can always add a thin insole. ### ⭐ We do not recommend this shoe! BUYER BEWARE! *by S***E on October 18, 2018* This was purchased in September and the sole has already come apart. apart meaning practically fallen off! Not recommended what so ever! One star is too many. "Work shoe"? No way unless you don't walk in them! Shoe received Sept 10 and totally blown out on October 17. Plus was on vacation 10 days and didn't wear them! lasted less than 30 days.BUYER BEWARE! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Safe shoe for wet floors, recommended! *by A***D on February 14, 2018* My son loves loves the shoes!
