A work in progress
Great help to get my life documented.I've had a very interesting, hard, blessed, sad, joyous life. Most people that know parts of my past have told me I should write a book on how I've made it through. I've tried but don't know where to begin.I bought this book to at least document my travels and perhaps leave my story to anyone interested in hearing it.There are great segments that ask very poignant and thought provoking questions. Deep questions that literally make you stop and really think of what to write. This isn't a book of frivolous, trivial, "what's your favorite color" kinda thing. It forces one to really dig deep inside and be 100% honest.I'm taking my time in answering the questions and at times...it does bring up strong emotions from past traumas. If you want to share your true deep and honest story of your life...this is a fabulous book to get. After all...once we're all gone on this planet, our words may still be helpful to others in their dark times.Great purchase!

Nice Gift
Bought these to give my parents so that future generations have something to look back on. This would also make a good college graduation gift for someone to fill out over the years. There is a full page dedicated to each question, which allows for someone to do a short or long response. The paper is sturdy which will hold up over time.Recommend this if you want to record your history, or that if someone you love!

Thorough, thought-provoking question book.
I was looking for memoir-type books for my grandparents-in-law and after searching without much to show for it, I came across this book. It has so many good reviews that I felt good buying it. And I can see why. The questions aren't your typical "How much did bread cost when you were born?" so much as "I was taught to practice kindness in these ways..." (That's a made up example - unfortunately the books are already wrapped and in a shipping box to go off to their recipients.) There is one question per page, but enough room to give a thoughtful answer. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because I didn't see much of those standard questions - like name, birthday, siblings, addresses, schools attended, those sorts of things. I suppose they assume you either already know that about this person (or yourself) or didn't find it necessary. Part of what I love about human history are those "mundane" details. But, they're not to be recorded in this book, unless I totally missed it. Either way, I liked the questions I read and think it'll make a great gift.

Fun to do!
I'm enjoying answering all the questions in this. Some really make you dig deep but it also helps bring up some forgotten memories. My kids are going to love having this book when I'm gone!

Love it!
Got this for my mom. Ended up doing it too for my kiddos. It has lead to some wonderful conversations with my mom. Don't wait get it and instead of writing in the book. Buy some good notebooks and write it down there so you and your parents and grandparents can all do it.

Wonderful layout & insightful questions
The questions are sectioned into life phases (early years, etc.) Great, leading questions with plenty of space to write on the page.

Difficult
The questions seemed unimportant, pointless and uninteresting. Difficult for a person of age.

Great gift to a retired individual.
This is a great gift to give to someone that is retiring, and has the time to reflect on his or her life. Excellent questions that search the memory for an answer. I think that the children would appreciate the gift of understanding their parents previous life. The only downsize, you have to be careful not to write too much. Practice writing on a sheet of paper and see how that would fit the question page. That’s the only advice I would give. Overall the Quality was good and I’m glad I got the hard cover for this retiree.
