Totally waterproof. Kept all of my gear 100% dry and I love that it floats! I bought it for a trip to Costa Rica during rainy season and it worked great. My husband liked it too; enough that we bought a second bag for him. The straps are a little scratchy but I think they will soften over time. The grey color is nice and low key. The pocket inside isn't super useful as the Velcro that sticks it to the bag is pretty weak but overall I'd say it's a great product for the price. (it's not a Yeti, but the beer doesn't have to stay cold for 5 days!) Toss in a 12-24 pack and 10lb of ice and hit the beach! Stays plenty cold for a couple of hours. For a concert, game, or day at the park/beach, it's much more convenient, portable and lighter than a cooler6) If you kayak, most of the 'sit-ons' have a bungee storage area behind the seat - this 20L bag fits nicely in that space on any kayak I've rented.
