Power Acoustik HDVD-93GRDK Single 9-Inch Replacement Headrest with DVD and Video Monitor (Dark Gray)

Is there a item in the world that you will love... this is one of them ! Screen resolution is above everyone else. The remote is very simple and the sound quality is very aceptable. The design is compact and "the camuflage" works great (this is hidding the player from thieves). The screen size is perfect. I will definately recommend it.

At first, I was happy with this product, even though the installation was unnecessarily complicated. However, this week the product stopped working. The screen powers up but it will not load and play a DVD. I tried a disc cleaner and I tried cleaning the inside of the unit, nothing seemed to make a difference. If you don't have a receipt showing professional installation, they only warranty the product for 90 days. If you pay for the install, then it is one year.I purchased an extended warranty through Amazon and Squaretrade. I recommend the extended warranty on this product. It is made in China and is not the best quality.Square trade covered the unit and refunded my money. The only real catch was that they wanted me to deal with Power Acoustik first, but I was outside of my 90 day window with them, since I did not do a professional install. So Squaretrade quickly agreed to give me my money back.Update Dec-2011Purchased another one of these units, the newer updated version. I looked around and could not really find another headrest player I liked better, they are all made in China. I had hoped to find one that is better quality, but they all seem to be about the same if you want a replacement headrest. So I bought another one, taking my advice of once again getting the SquareTrade warranty. In January it stopped working at exactly 32 days old. It did the same thing as the last one, it would power up fine, but when you put in a dvd, it would spin for awhile and then so "No DVD in Player". Two days later, it started working again. It is still working at 2 mos old. We shall see how long it lasts.

This DVD player has a very clear picture and matches almost perfectly with the car. I thought I was getting a great price until I had to spend additional money to have it installed and since my child isn't old enough for head phones (which aren't included anyway) I had to purchase speakers as well. You might be better off buying it locally from a store that includes installation.

I love the 9" screen of this player and the picture is pretty good, not great but then it does not have to look like my home theater system. It is just meant to keep the son entertained in the car and it does that very well. These headrests come in a 7" size as well but there was no way I was going to be happy with that so I got the 9" and I have to say that is the perfect size (IMHO). I have 8" digital picture frames and I consider those a little small for my taste, so I knew I did not want to go any smaller than 9" for a car dvd / movie player.Anyway, set up is not hard... it does take some time but with the DVD player already included in the headrest the only real set-up is hooking it up to electric. Of course there are connections for an additional monitor and to hook it into your existing car stereo and also to other players, etc. However, none of that was necessary or applicable in my case. What I wanted (and got) was an all-in-one DVD player / LCD monitor to play videos for the boy while in the car and it does that perfectly!I really have no complaints at all. It matches perfectly with the car interior and does exactly what it is supposed to do.

This unit is perfect for a 2009-2012 Dodge Ram. It is one of the few Universal headrest systems that the post narrow enough to be used in the RAM (4.5 inches) The dark gray is a 99% color match alomst impossible to tell the difference. No one would notice at all.The 9 inch screen is perfect and the installation was easy, even for an amateur like me. You do have to splice into an accessory power. That part is easy but learning to take off the interior trim, now that is tricky.The windows are factory tinted. During the day super easy to see and at night, via the remote, there is a dimming feature.3 actual A/V inputs. Two at the end of each units harness via standar red, yellow , white RCA. And each unit has a min plug A/V input on the front. PLUS, the factory includes the mini plug break out to an RCA with female ens. And a remote per unitEach unit also has IR dual channel A and B.FM transmitterAspect adjustment.Overall unbeatable compared to $2000 for 7 inch "factory match" units with similar or fewer features.Because I saved over $1500 compared to a dealer installing a but smaller screen sized unit, I bought the square trade warranty, small price.I also installed a LOCKPICK chr550 in the RAM and that was eash ( not including learning how to remove the trim the fist time) and it feeds various outputs to one of the headrests. And then via that headrests A/V output I feed that to one of the other units A/V inputs.Well work less then $500 for all installed my self ( lockpick an extra $340 with a 3 year square trade warranty)

This is a good product. Great screen resolution. The only problem it has no DC cable. You need knowledge about electrical wiring to be able to install this product. I don't recommend this for amateurs.

excellent quality product, works perfect and we really like the performance, my children really enjoy can be connected individually or together so that helps us a lot and we have a 7 year old and 18 year old daughter when we travel together everyone can watch what you want
