Q: how many days until the CYA drops ?

A few days to a week. It works up to 10 days. We have a pool service company and are 2 for 2 on dropping the CYA without draining using this product. You have to follow the directions and make sure the water is balanced correctly and the temperature is all within range. The last pool dropped from over 100 to 80 in 3 days.

Q: How to use this with minimal chlorine without getting algae? In Central Texas and water temp is 76 degrees

I add liquid chlorine to keep the level around 4. I don't get alge at that level. The tablets are good for stability but add too much cyuranic acid if you only use them.
