Unique pleasant scent that's very close to new car
Every other air freshener I've tried labeled "new car" was just another scent that smelled as much like new car as "waterfall" or "mountain" and other such scents smelled like their namesakes. Not this. This is something different. I can understand now why reviewers mentioned most of the wide variety of scents they compared this too (new electronics, plastic, etc.), except I don't know why so many people said it smelled like bleach. I sprayed about four sprays on the floor in the front and back seats of my 2011 Ford sedan. At first I was unsure whether I liked the scent and was not enjoying it on my nearly four hour trip, though that may be because I sprayed a little too much and/or because it completely destroyed any trace of the amazing upholstery cleaner scent that I used a few weeks ago. Then, the next day, it was different. My car smelled brand new inside (this may have been the immediate result if I sprayed less)! It was not exactly as I remember new cars smelling, but wow--close enough! I keep my car in detailed condition all the time. This scent would be out of place and disconcerting in a dirty interior IMO. After 2-3 days the scent relaxes a bit and smells "neutral," though I realize that makes no sense (hopefully you know what I mean). The deodorizing properties are magical as far as I'm concerned. Even though I sprayed it only on the carpet, it somehow took the upholstery cleaner scent (which was itself supposed to be a deodorizer!) out of the seats entirely. Hopefully, it does that for scents I actually want to get rid of, if I ever have that problem. If you prefer fruity, lavendar, vanilla, etc. (all of which I strongly dislike) over "chemical" smells, this is probably the wrong air freshener for you. If you want a fresh, pleasant scent that mimics new car outgassing, I suggest this with the caveat that everyone's sense of smell is different, so you never know. It is strong though, so just spray sparingly at first and then to scent.

This Stuff Is The Best!!! From a Guy Who Knows!!!
I drive a Lyft car. I go to great lengths to give people a wonderful experience in my car because it leads to fatter tips. This scent is one weapon in my arsenal. My car is CLEAN AND PRISTINE. At all times. It is beautiful inside and out. Many, many times, customers have commented on how beautiful my car is. What they don't know is it is FIVE YEARS OLD. When I got this new car scent, I funneled it into a tiny little sprayer and diluted it by half. I don't want people to really even notice any smell. Before each driving session (which means once a day, generally), I spray two shots on the carpet in the middle of the backseat. It is very subtle because it is diluted, but it is definitely there, and I notice it. Sometimes I get some on my fingers from the spray bottle and you can smell it on my fingers, too. It has a new plastic and leather smell, I think. But it is definitely new car-ish. I read all these reviews before I bought it, and some of them say it's no good, you can't smell anything, and a waste of money. NOT TRUE! It doesn't knock you over, and it's not fruity or cinnamon or hide-the-dope-smelling. But I don't want any of that. That smells like a scent sprayed in the car. I want the whole experience to be of immaculateness and great care and great service. And it works! This is HANDS DOWN THE BEST scenting product I have ever purchased. And because I only use 2 squirts of diluted solution, it's gonna last at least 5 years, maybe more. A truly excellent purchase. I highly recommend.

Nice scent, just doesn’t quite smell like that “new car” smell.
I would probably mimic what others have said on this product. First, let me say that I am very meticulous with my vehicles. I always keep them extremely clean inside and out. I really don’t have a need for an air freshener. I use a leather cleaner and conditioning product and a lot of people will get in my ~4 year old vehicle and wonder how it still “smells new”. I don’t think it smells new, but what they are smelling is that conditioner. Anyway, I love the smell of a new car. If I found a product, even an air freshener product (which I otherwise don’t use) that would give me that, I’d be all over it. I will say this and get it out of the way right now… if you are in the same position as me, this product DOES NOT give your car a new car smell as it advertises. The smell is clean… somewhat reminiscent of a new plastic smell. New car smell is much more than new plastic, however. I mean, the smell isn’t bad. It’s just not new car. I like it. It’s growing on me. I just bought a new to me used vehicle. It didn’t smell bad inside, but I’ve been using this product religiously to try and get the “new car smell”. I am spraying it directly onto the carpets and floor mats as well as putting the AC on max and spraying under the dash to let it take it up into the vents. I find that you do need to refresh daily or every other day to keep the smell prominent. It doesn’t last as long as I’d expect. It also takes quite a number of sprays. I bought a 16oz bottle to try and it’s lasted me about 2 weeks. I did like it enough that I just bought the 20oz bottle and will continue to use the product and see how it does. Whether I continue it after that’s or not remains to be seen. So all in all, I like the product. The scent is good. It is not a new car scent. If that’s what you’re hoping for, you may be disappointed.

Short-Lived Bliss
My car hasn't had "new car" smell for several years, and the best substitute I could find was a questionable cleaning solution used by a local car wash that rapidly faded into an unpleasant odor. I was looking for something fairly long-lived that would offer a pleasant fragrance without a heavy floral or artificial tone. The Chemical Guys are one of the few companies on the market offering a liquid spray air freshener rather than a gummy gel or a felted tree of some kind, so I purchased this hoping for an alternative. Shipping and delivery were quick, and I soon was spritzing my car. The smell isn't the same as "new car," but it does have a solid, clean quality that falls somewhere between a new memory foam mattress topper and vinyl. A fainter undertone to my sensitive nose comes off almost woodsy, like when the wind turns in a pine forest. When undiluted, the smell can be a bit strong, but the strength wears off after 30 minutes to an hour. The mellow fragrance stays subtle and unobtrusive, doing its job to freshen up the car and remove traces of unwanted odors. I wish it stayed stronger because I enjoyed that first whiff and the transition. The bottle contains a generous amount of air freshening solution. Dilution (at 1:1 to 2:1 ratio of water to air freshener) can lengthen the life considerably, depending on how large your vehicle is and how saturated you want the scent. I intend to try a 2.5 or 3:1 ratio to see whether that modifies the scent much. Adding a cup to the carpet cleaner when washing the interior upholstery is also very effective for getting the scent. My main beef: it doesn't last that long. I feel the need to reapply in my car fairly often to maintain the beneficial effects, while your mileage may vary with a smaller vehicle. Do NOT apply this directly to upholstery or plastic without doing a spot test first. The fabric side of my door got a direct hit and I can still see the outline 48 hours later. Time to pull out the carpet cleaner and do some deep cleansing on the affected area. The Chemical Guys instruct owners to spritz in the air, preferably in a restricted, out of the way place. My cargo hatch and under the seats worked very well. The gentlemen at my usual oil change place also apply Febreeze and air freshener products like this directly to the cabin air filters, though I don't know whether this is recommended.

Best option is to dilute as advised by Manufacturer!
I have read most of the previous reviews before I decided to purchase this product. Also, after reading reviews, I wondered why no one has taken the advice and instructions from the manufacturer? They stated , the product can be diluted enough to make 2 gallons of spray. So I put that to the test. Now anyone can follow up on my math, but I took 2 gallons, which equals 128 oz's the Product itself is 16 oz's, Divide 128 by 16 = 8. So, I went further, instead of an 8:1 ratio, I diluted on a 16:1 ratio. Being ,16 ounces of water (distilled or otherwise) to 1 ounce of product. Worked perfectly!!!! Spray 10 to 15 sprays around the inside carpet and mats and trunk areas. After 1 day, it leaves a very subtle NEW CAR SCENT! So, get yourself an empty spray bottle and dilute this Product. 16 bottles of this Product from 1. Quite a deal!! I will see how long it will last. UPDATE: After about a week, the 16:1 dilution ratio lasted only 4 to 5 days. Next trail, instead of spraying 10 to 15 times, I sprayed only 3 to 4. It lasted a few days also. But the scent is a subtle New Car Scent and not overwhelming. Maybe an 8:1 ratio will extend the lasting affect, however it may be a slightly stronger scent for those with a sensitive sense of smell. This is strong stuff, so please dilute it for best results! Great value for the money. I'm staying with the 16:1 ratio and just refresh with 1 spray a day.

Obviously not perfect, but the closest I think you can get out of a bottle!
Alright this stuff is seriously what I've been searching for for YEARS. Let me preface everything by saying that I just bought a 2017 F150 new last year, so I'm still very familiar with what a brand new car smells like. Originally it smelled incredible! But now I've had the truck about 15K miles and 12 months. It still has a little bit of that "new car smell" left but nothing like when I first purchased it (I also may have just grown accustomed to the smell). In the past, with other cars I've owned, I've tried different products branded to make your car smell new, but none even come close. None of the manufacturers even seem to understand what makes a car smell new. It's the mix of new materials - the fabric, the plastic, and more. But most "new car smell" products just have like a sweet smell, which smells okay, but NOT like a new car. THESE GUYS GET IT THOUGH. First off, this does NOT smell like my F150 did when new. The F150 in my opinion smelled quite a bit better, however every car model has a different smell when new, and I think this strikes a nice balance between different cars to produce an odor that smells like an average new car. I have a full crew cab truck, and the interior is very roomy for 5 seats. That being said, just a couple light sprays wasn't very noticeable. After a couple of weeks of not really smelling anything, I did a light spray on both the driver and passenger seats, and two light sprays on the back seats. This was about right. When I get into the truck it does legitimately remind me of a brand new car. Others who have ridden with me get into the truck and say, "MMMMM I love the new car smell!". I don't tell them that I cheated :) Another huge plus of this product is that it will last a very long time. Just a few sprays lasts a while, and the bottle is a decent size, so I think I'll have a fresh smelling truck for a good long time! Nicely done Chemical Guys!

Love this stuff
I have a 2018 Fiat Abarth Spider. It only has 11,000 miles on it. It looks like new inside and out, but the new car smell has faded. Ugh! I like a car that smells fresh and clean. I don't want floral, musky or kitchen fragrances in my vehicle. Seriously, there is nothing like a new car smell. I always wondered why no one bottle that smell. I found Chemical Guys New Car Smell Premium Spray and thought I would give it a try. Instant fan!!! I don't know what else to say. I sprayed it and thought wow, how cool is this. I forgot about about applying it, opened my car door to go to work the next morning and was immediately surrounded by that mesmerizing new car smell. I have mats over top the original car mats and that Is what I spray. I don't spray my cloth/leather seats. I can't give testimony if the product would leave any type of stain or spray marks on fabric. I found spraying the carpets works for me and provides a great smelling vehicle. A little goes a long way. I just purchased my second bottle and it will not be my last. Kudos to a great product!

Could be great, but too many problems, including customer service
After purchasing and using this product the first time, I wrote a fairly positive review. Sadly, after continued use, I experienced more than one issue, which lead me to contact customer service of which was a fruitless waste of time. Read on for the pros and cons of this spray. PROS: Smell: While some have complained of the smell, my personal preference is that it's nice. It's not quite a new car smell, but strikes me as more true to a new car than the "little trees" version. Value: In terms of price paid, and the amount of liquid you get, it's of decent value, if not deterred the cons that make this a somewhat moot point. CONS: Leaky Container: You'll find complaints of this on over 200+ reviews and it's very true. Apparently, you're not supposed to store this in your car. If you do, the bottle sweats away the internal contents. This causes rapid leakage and gets all over any area where you have it stored in your car. It's greasy and not fun to wipe up. Additionally, you lose the product. This was after about 1 week in my car. In contact customer service, the best they could advise was to not keep it in my car, which seems unrealistic, especially when you don't have a garage. Poor Spray Nozzle: Lets say you keep it indoors. You'll still be contending with a sprayer that doesn't match the needs of the product. You want a sprayer that creates a mist. The nozzle on their bottles do more of a stream, spitting out large droplets where ever you spray. If you spray the drivers seat, be prepared to drive with a wet shirt until it dries. "Watermarks" Everywhere: You simply cannot get this on anything but cloth. You will end up with marks on any plastic, vinyl, etc... This wouldn't be a huge problem, but it's fairly easy to do on account of the poor nozzle. Doesn't last: Perhaps this is a product more designed as a deodorizer but as someone that cleans his car regularly, and simply wants a long lasting smell, this does not do the trick. I spray it at the car wash, and can smell it on the ride to the next location, but by the time I've stepped out of the vehicle, and then stepped back in, I can't really detect that I ever sprayed it at all. Customer Service: The initial reply, from an AI bot, was kind and gave me hope of getting some help. However, upon reaching a real representative, and advising them of losing two bottles of spray due to leaking, I only received the reply to not leave it in my car. I wasn't seeking anything for free, but validation over completely wasting my money would have been nice. Conclusion: If you're to purchase this product, just know you better keep it indoors, and/or move it to another spray bottle. I purchased a spray bottle and dumped the contents in their. Obviously, that means I'm still buying it, and to it's credit, that's because I do like the smell, but there's also a lack of any competition. I'm in hopes that they'll fix the bottle as the formula isn't terrible. Overall, I'd partially recommend it, but you'll want to make that accommodation.

Works great!
This stuff is awsome. Smells more like a cinema than new car but that’s all good. Better than cigarettes which it got rid of after one use. I will be buying more.

Ruikt niet naar nieuwe auto.
De geur heeft meer wat weg van een computerzaak / winkel voor kantoorartikelen. Maar is zeker NIET de geur van een nieuwe auto.
