These lights made a huge improvement in my kitchen. We had 2700k (yellowish) bulbs in standard 6 inch cans in our kitchen when we recently bought the home. They had 650 lumen output (brightness) and the kitchen was dingy. I painted the yellow kitchen walls a very soft blue-gray, which brightened the kitchen a little, but the 2700k light looked strange. These new lights made a dramatic difference, being much brighter at 1100 lumens, but the real benefit was that the color of the lights is adjustable. I set mine at 4000k (whiter, but not full daylight, which can be harsh). Setting the light color couldn't be simpler (small switch integrated in the light). Removing the old baffle was easy (reach in and release one spring on each side). Installing these is also very easy. You simply screw in the base, plug two orange connectors together, and squeeze the springs on each side of the light so they slip in between extrusions from the cans that act as brackets. Once the springs are in the "brackets," pushing up on the light "pulls" it right up snug against the ceiling. Squeezing the springs could be difficult for someone with very weak hands or bad arthritis, and slipping the springs into the "brackets" might be challenging for someone with limited vision, but for most people this maneuver should be pretty simple and it is easy to get the hang of. [I mention this installation methodology to encourage anyone thinking of purchasing these lights who may wonder what's involved, but it is not specific to these Hykolity lights. It is standard in the industry now for can lights, and these particular Hykolity lights are as easy to install as any I have used.] Overall, these lights are amazing, as is the extremely low price.

These lights work great! Much better than the old incandescent bulbs. Very easy to install.I highly recommend them.

Overall we like these lights. We replaced 12 can lights in our home that had been installed when the home was built in the 90’s. They light is perfect bright but not cool which is what we prefer. The install was very easy and straightforward. No issues.Over the course of the last two years three of the lights have just broken and fallen. They are still attached at the wire so they have just hung there. Where the light itself screws into the base that attaches to the existing can the two plastic shafts that have screws through them hav snapped and allowed the light to fall. Luckily we have determined we can super glue it back together. They are hot so it’s not from heat and the three that have snapped have been at vastly different intervals since purchase. Over all I would buy and install these again since it seems to be fixable. Worse case you can just replace it. Just wish it didn’t happen at all.

The install was quick and easy. I replaced 12 can lights in less than a half hour. It took more time to move my ladder than it did to change out the lights. They are very bright as stated as well! They are much more appealing than the old cans.

They are definitely brighter than traditional bulbs, and the color selection feature is nice. However, those are the only redeeming qualities.I made a big mistake and ordered a lot of these. Replaced a lot of the recessed lights in my house with them. They're starting to fail after a year, one at a time.I have had two burn out. And now three of them have randomly fallen from the ceiling. I broke one of them during installation because these plastic brackets that hold the mounting wires to the mainframe will snap.The biggest problem is these little plastic screws inside of the plastic cap that hold the mounting structures to the actual metal casing will snap. These have caused three of these to randomly fall from the ceiling. I'm having to secure them back with duct tape.You are much better off spending a little extra in buying from reliable brands at home Depot. Because after a year you're going to be really kicking yourself when they start dropping from the ceiling randomly.

Added recessed lighting as part of our kitchenupdate.. The effect is very nice and added much needed work area lighting.

Easy install for the 5/6” retrofit Potlight , nice to have the option of the different color temperatures , dims with no flicker , also very bright , good product .

Check for helper videos if you're really unsure how to install but this is incredibly simple to put in. My previous pot lights were 7.5 inches wide so I have the tiniest gap of coverage but that's no fault of this light. Also, these are quite bright at 1100 lumins so be aware that you're installing basically the equivalent of 100w bulbs.

These lights were super easy to install (no need to go through breaker box) and it looks great with the adjustable dimming settings.

Lightness is good, but 2 of these lights fell off my ceiling in just 2 months. The plastic tooth connecting the hanger is broken, and no way to fix it. I had to reorder others to replace them. 2 broken out of 12, are not that bad maybe, but definitely not acceptable to me as I need all 12 lights working and didn't order extra. It bothers me and I hope the manufacturer could improve the problem.
