As per some searches on google i came to know that Kojic acis helps inhibiting the formation of pigments and is widely used in cosmetic for protection against different kinds of radiation.Kojic acid works wonders on removing dark patches caused by scars or skin allergies or infections, wounds etc. Suggest you to google for Kojic acid and it's use it skin lightening and dark patch removal. I have several small dark patches and wanted a even tone for my skin though i wasn't really looking for skin fairness.This soap came in a good packing which retained the smell. The smell was just pleasant and nice and not too strong, having a sensitive nose i liked it. Even after bathing i was able to smell the mild fragrance.The lather was decent and the soap felt a bit slippery as the texture was silky smooth.It didn't make my skin dry and skin felt soft and hydrated after use.Coming to the main reason, within 4 weeks of use, i was able to see slight visible results of my dark patches getting a tad lighter, but need to use for couple of months for better results. I will try to upload the side by side picture after 3 months of use. But now you can check the 1.5 month (6 week) difference photo showing the dark patch which i got a year back due to an injury got lighter now.IMPORTANT NOTE: The effectiveness can change from person to person depending on the skin type, cause of dark patches, and how regular the soap is used. For me it worked initially but now it seems to be slower in showing the effectiveness.This is indeed a good soap for trying to lighter toned skin or for getting rid of dark patches. You can use this for your daily face wash (atleast 2 times a day) or you can use it to bath all over body. Use atleast twice a day, massage the lather well against dark patches, don't rinse quickly, have some patience and you will see results. I don't term it as a fairness soap but as a soap that help to reduce tan, dark patches etc.UPDATE: The less darker patches changed slightly lighter but didn't completely change to normal skin color. The more darker patches are not changing that fast. The initial results were good and quick (4 weeks) but later it seems to be slow. Maybe i need to use it for couple of months. I wasn't that fortunate, and fell for the fake 4.2 star rating. This soap is terrible, it's sent is overwhelming and I got breakouts using it. And I believe it doesn't have any significant amount of kojic acid as after one week use, no difference.
