Great for home made chocolate bars.

Great taste and smell, but most of all, it helps for coughing. Whenever someone in my family gets sick with a sore throat or coughing, I dissolve 1 or 2 nibs in warm milk (you can add little sugar if needed) and drink it while it warm. The throat feels instantly better and cough gets lighter. The cacao butter coats you throat, so you feel better right away. Even my kids started to ask for it when they get sick.

I recommend only purchasing this product during the colder months of the year. I make small-batch chocolate and this is perfect for my needs. When I order in winter, it arrives in little buttons as pictured, and they're great for shaving into small pieces and using to seed the finished chocolate during the tempering process. I don't recommend ordering in summer though, when I did that, it arrived in a melted lump. It still worked fine for making delicious chocolate, but I had to use something else to seed the temper.

My boyfriend and I have a lot of allergies so we like to use either straight coconut oil or straight cacao butter as lotions. Usually coconut oil is a little too liquidy and takes a while to absorb, but we've been very pleased with this cacao butter. Since cocoa butter's melting point (93-100 degrees F) is much higher than coconut oil (78 degrees Fahrenheit) these wafers are much easier for us to use. We just break off a little piece and then rub that piece onto any dry areas. This helps prevent us from using excess oil and having to wait for it to soak in. I've tried other cocoa butters in the past, but this seems fresher than other stuff I've used because the chocolate/cacao scent is more prominent. I absolutely love it, and the scent sticks around for a couple hours. It's not overpowering but if you're within a few inches of someone you'll notice the light cacao scent on them. I haven't tried cooking with these since we just use them for lotion, but I did taste a very small piece and it had a nice mild cacao flavor and tasted fresh.

This is how I use it. If you're doing a pour over, drop a few at the bottom of your receptacle and once your coffee is done put it in a bullet for emulsion. Same with hot cocoa. Hot oatmeal is a great way to I corporate cacao butter in your diet. I feel a boost in brain function but that's just me. Try it, you may like it.

Smooth texture, easily melts, pleasant taste melted in my coffee which is how I take it for its nutritional value.

These convenient little wafers are wonderful to drop in hot coffee. Healthy fat and delicious flavor make them well worth the cost. They do melt during shipping in hot summer weather. I just try to order enough in cool weather to last me through the heat.
