A good installment in the series
Ultimate Comics Spider-Man Volume 3 (could the title be any longer?) is a an enjoyable installment in the series. As many other people pointed out, Miles Morales is filling out quite nicely as a character, and although (yes) he so far lacks the emotional resonance of Peter Parker (on the other hand, Parker has what, 70 years of history? That's a BIT of an advantage), he is still an interesting character to follow. What I like about the art in particular is A) the fight scenes flow nicely and logically B) Morales' Spidey truly fights and moves differently than Parker's, and in a very obvious way. Huge thumbs up there, even in costume it feels like watching a totally different person. The same as the rest of the series since the Ultimatum, this book isn't groundbreaking or even astonishing, but it's still a lot of fun to read.

nothing to fear since Marquez is brilliant
I wasn't keen on reading this since I wanted more of Pichelli's artwork; nothing to fear since Marquez is brilliant here. There are big epic panels and dramatic splash pages since now the subject matter is WAR, and we finally see Miles joining the Ultimates and putting in hard graft instead of his low-key fights against minor villains. We don't find out what the relationship between Spider-Woman and Miles is, so need to push on to #19. I'll keep an eye on Miles since I guess that he is going to witness some kind of coming of age/major character development in the same way that Peter Parker had his Uncle Ben/Gwen watersheds. That reminds me, I'd better check out Spider-Gwen...
