Does what it’s supposed to
Bought this battery isolator to add a second battery to my van to run a bunch of lights and an inverter off of without killing my starting battery. I’ve owned this for two months and no problems so far.

Order some ring lug terminals.
At about 12.8 or so the relay kicks in and starts changing my alternate battery. Works great for a boat.

Great VSR relay, but Yellow "Override" wire (Force On) should be active HI instead of GND.
I own a fleet of rental motorhomes. They all have a standard solenoid coil relay, controlled by the engine "Ignition" line, which connects the Engine battery (alternator) to the "coach" (RV) battery when the engine is running. This is a great VSR relay, but the Yellow "Override" wire (Force On) should be active HI (12v) instead of GND to duplicate this function. It works ok without connecting the ignition line because of the voltage threshold logic, (i.e. it senses when the alternator goes above 13.x volts), However, most motorhomes also have a "Battery boost" or "Emergency Start" switch on the dash which you can press if your engine battery is dead, which forces the existing relay ON when this signal goes high (12v). You loose this critical function with this relay simply because they chose the wrong polarity for the yellow "override" wire, which means I won't buy anymore of these.

Lasted 3 months
It worked out of the box. Light would come on when the engine started and it changed my second battery. now no light and no charging. It still has power at all terminals. Bummer. I would look for a better one.

Don’t use the optional wiring accessory features.
I am not a fan of the design of f this product in terms of the optional wiring for the remote charging indicator. This consisted of a very short loop of low voltage wire. I installed this on my boat and wanted a light on the console to tell me when the auxiliary battery was being charged. In my attempt to strip the wire I cut through most of it leaving very little to splice to. In my struggles I also slipped and pulled the ground wire from the soldiered connection. I ended up having to disassemble the thing and soldier the ground. I attempted to repair the auxiliary wire but was not successful as I’m not that great at soldiering.Granted I brought most of this on myself, I didn’t have to wire up the optional indicator light. And I didn’t contact the company for any assistance, but I can’t understand why they designed it with the other optional wiring feature with a full length accessible wire and for this one only gave a extremely short inaccessible wire. It all could have been avoided with some better design features.I’m not sure how long this thing will continue to work with my diy repairs and if I have to replace it, it won’t be from this company.
