Brass pot adapter sleeves install knobs for 1/4" solid shaft pots on split shaft pots, 5 pieces

The intent of this product is to adapt a 1/4" split-shaft pot to work with a 1/4" knob with set-screw (typically used with solid-shaft pots). In order for this to work:- The pot shaft's maximal outer diameter should be less than the adapter sleever's inner diameter (although there is some wiggle room by bending the split shaft as necessary), and..- The outer diameter of the adapter sleeve should be slightly less than the inner diameter of the knobs.I used digital calipers to measure the adapter sleeves, CTS 1/4" pots, and two sets of official Fender Tele / P-Bass chrome dome knobs:CTS 1/4" PotsShaft Maximal Diameter: 5.91mm (average of 4 pots)Adapter SleevesInner Diameter: 5.95mm (average of 5)Outer Diameter: 6.31mm (average of 5)Fender Tele / P-Bass KnobsInner Diameter: 6.34mm (average of 4, but one was right at 6.30mm)All 4 of my pot shafts had no problem accommodating the sleeves. In fact I will probably need to spread the split shafts a bit wider so the sleeves can fit snugly.3 of my 4 knobs were able to fit over the adapter sleeves; however, one of them had an ID that was 6.31mm -- the same as the average OD of the sleeves. This one would likely be tough to fit, and I would want to match it with the smallest sleeve. Thankfully, these knobs are going on a Strat project, so I only need 3 of the 4 knobs anyway.Bottom line, these adapter sleeves worked fo me. But the tolerances are tight -- down to a hundredth of a millimeter in some cases! A burr, or a bit of extra chrome plating on your knob could potentially cause trouble. So before purchasing, I highly recommend that you use digital calipers to make sure the inner diameters of your intended knobs are 6.32mm or greater!

These were supposed to adapt split shaft pots to set screw knobs, but they have the same outer dimension as the knobs inner dimension, meaning they won’t fit inside. There was enough gap around the pot shaft to let me trim some down and turn them into shim, which kinda works.

Same situation as another commenter. I used a dremel to cut these open and get them to fit inside the knob. I mean it kinda works. My knobs still turn kinda wonky though. Waste of time and money.

These did exactly what they’re supposed to do, and now I can put my solid shaft guitar knobs on smaller knurled shaft potentiometers.
