This is a great yoga mat. It's sooo thick and comfortable, and still has a decent amount of 'stick' to it so you don't slide doing yoga. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is because of two things: 1, it stretches a little when you are in down dog. It seems to have a little bit of 'give' to it, so if you do down dog with your hands and feet spread really far apart, it does stretch what feels like another half to one inch further! At first it was weird and I felt like I was slipping, even though my hands and feet were planted firmly, but then I realized that the mat just stretches a little. So now I just don't make my initial pose that wide. And 2, there seems to be a little bit of what looks like lint, near my feet. I don't know if it's the white part of the logo that is wearing a little from my feet or what. It's not a problem, it just makes it seem like it's getting dirty, even though I've only used it a few times. But you still can't beat the plush thickness of this mat, since you can't feel the hard ground underneath if you have bony hands and feet!

When taking the mat out of the plastic, the initial size was only 71 by 23 inches, but after 1-2 days it expanded to the 72 by 24 inch size. When it arrived, the shipping box was opened on one end and the strap was missing. The seller contacted me to make sure I was happy with the product, I mentioned the strap was missing, and the seller is shipping out another strap. This is great customer service, not what I expected! Regarding the mat itself, it feels more sturdy, I don't leave an indenture of my hand in this mat compared with other 1/2 inch thick mats which are more like memory foam. There is absolutely no slippage when doing downward dog. I usually have to replace my mat every year because of stretching at the top and bottom ends, but this mat seems like it will last a lot longer. There is a ridged side with the logo that is face up, and the smooth side is against the floor. There is no slippage on my tile floor. The 1/2 inch thickness protects my body and joints, but still allows me to do the tree pose without falling.

You can go to Target and pick up any old mat, and get started with a daily yoga/stretching routine. If you are looking to "WOW" your yoga classmates, and even your own body, this is the mat for you. It's thicker than the average mat and is unbelievably comfortable(I could probably sleep on it). You would never think that something as simple as buying a high quality yoga mat could really improve your exercise routine, but this mat makes me excited to stretch. It's comparable to slipping on a pair of comfortable slippers or sitting in a plushy loveseat.If you have any problems with maintaining a stretching routine, I can tell you I've been there. I am a runner and I know that stretching is a VERY important part in preventing injury and even improving the responsiveness and strength in your muscles. I find it hard after a long workout to get down on the ground and stretch out my tired muscles. I look forward to stretching now, and get excited to feel the amazing comfort level provided by the Thrive On Wellness Mat.I love this company's motto and culture! So far, I am really pleased with this mat! There was no chemical smell when I opened it, a big plus. It is nice and thick and really protects my knees and spine, but it is not "squishy." It is firm so that you have a lot more stability than on most thicker mats I have tried. I have been using it for mat Pilates and it is just perfect for that. I'm hoping to use it for yoga too. Many thick mats that work for Pilates stretch too much for yoga; this one stretches some in down dog, but not enough to make you fall on your face like the last one I had. I would have given it five stars except for the strap. The straps are useful for just keeping the mat rolled up, but it is no good for carrying, because the two elastic bands won't stay in place and slip off the end of the mat.

I have been using this Yoga Mat for about 3 weeks and it is a good Yoga matt . I have hard wood floors and needed something with more thickness and comfort to kneel onto for some exercises and this product works. I'm 6' 4" and weight about 230 and of course it's not long enough but it does hold my body weight comfortably, stays positioned to the floor, and is defiantly not slippery at all. Not sure what one gets for $100.00 but this seemed to satisfy my needs for now. Seems like it will last for sometime; glad I got it and ended the confusion of looking at all these mats. I wish it was longer but I didn't look for that and I really set my budget for $20.00 dollars but this was the thickness I needed and had a good ratings so I spent the additional $15.00 dollars.

Love the length, the color and the thickness! As far as comfort, thumbs up. The only couple things: it has a hard smell of synthetic though I've been told by their professional, friendly staff that they use non toxic material and it could be from sitting in their warehouse so hoping the smell will go away in time. The other thing buyers should be aware: no pets, no socks on this mat; delicate, easy damaging material.It' hard to find something of amazing quality and low price... This has a good value for its cost, I use it mainly for my abs workouts and it eliminated any discomfort caused by my bony structure. I still use my regular yoga mat for everything else, balancing it's hard on this one.Hope this helps.I do most of my purchases based on reviews so i always feel it's only fair to share my honest opinion. It has it's flows but the company seems great, admitting to it and working on improving its durability. I am keeping it.
