The air temperature coming out of the vents is about 50 degrees, WAY cooler than my central runs! I ended up running it instead of the whole house unit and it kept the main part of the house very comfortable even when the temp hit 100. The big payoff was when I got my first bill after installing it. Even with running the temperature control cooler than usual, my bill dropped about 60 dollars in the first month. It didn't hurt that I got a 50 dollar rebate from my electric company either for installing an energy star rated window unit! My only complaint (if you can call it that) is with the blower on high, standing near the unit is a little loud.
