## Questions & Answers

**Q: how many watts is this unit?**
A: It draws up to 12 amps so 230 * 12 = 2760 watts

**Q: Since the unit has a slide out chasis, can the unit be installed thru the wall of a bick house?**
A: our son helped us install this unit. he is here now, & is an electician w/hvac background. he said it can be installed in wall of brick house, or, at least, he would do that if he had brick house!! a year later this ac is still going strong!! our electic bill is still less than a lot of our family/friends who have ac units (all do here in tx!!) & is still so easy to maintain!! a friend of ours bought the smaller version of this unit & runs hers on econo too & ends up turning it off when she wakes up as it is so cold in her house!! we have never had an ac that worked this well for so little money!!

**Q: Can this unit be used as a thru wall unit. 25000btu**
A: Yes it can be used as a thru wall unit. Instructions for that are in the included manual.

**Q: What about a warranty?**
A: It has a full one-year warranty.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very economical!
*by E***. on October 9, 2013*

After doing my research, i bought this unit to supplement my central air after it tripped out last year in the 100+ Oklahoma summer. The air temperature coming out of the vents is about 50 degrees, WAY cooler than my central runs! I ended up running it instead of the whole house unit and it kept the main part of the house very comfortable even when the temp hit 100. The big payoff was when I got my first bill after installing it. Even with running the temperature control cooler than usual, my bill dropped about 60 dollars in the first month. It didn't hurt that I got a 50 dollar rebate from my electric company either for installing an energy star rated window unit! My only complaint (if you can call it that) is with the blower on high, standing near the unit is a little loud. Also unless you want the thing to kick on and off a lot on ecomomy setting, you need to place the remote sensing unit across the room in line-of-sight.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can hardly believe this still works
*by T***K on July 18, 2012*

UPDATE: 19 June 2019I just had to come back and comment. :-)Only used during the summer months in Phoenix, AZ, and this thing is still working great.Every year, I turn it on with some trepidation; will it work? Or is this the year it fails?I ordered this on 6/26/2012 and installed it mid July. So it's approaching its 7th anniversary! I never thought it would last this long, but that's cool (pun intended), as it allows me to procrastinate and kick the "replace-the-house-AC-unit" can some more. ;-)UPDATE: 9 June 2015Another year gone by, and the unit is still going strong! I'm impressed!Started it up about a month ago, as it was getting hot here. So this will be the fourth summer of using this unit for primary cooling of the house. At this point, I would say I definitely got my money's worth from this purchase! As noted below, it still can sometimes be a bit "buzzy", but usually just pushing on the front panels in various places minimizes it. Maybe someday I might get motivated enough to undo the front cover and insert some felt pads in strategic places...UPDATE: 2 June 2014Have had this installed since 17 July, 2012. Worked great all summer of 2013.Started it up about a week ago and... so far so good. Still cools great. The buzzing/noise level seems high though. I'm tempted to take apart the front and see if I can deaden some of the noise. So this unit is still being used as the only A/C in the house - still haven't felt compelled to replace the 'real' AC on the roof. It's going to take a lot to compel me to spend $4k or so for a new roof mount.Overall, I think it was a good investment.ORIGINAL REVIEW.It's big, it's heavy, and it's a bit of pain to get it installed. But once installed, it works well.Pros:Cools well.Nice remote temp sensing feature. Not overly loud.Cons:I wish the up/down vent would allow more up and down. range is limited. While not too loud, it's not exactly quiet. :)Occasionally gets a buzz or rattle to it that can be annoying.Might require you to run a dedicated 220v/20a line (I did)I have this in place of a kitchen window of almost the same size (framed in with 2x8's).This unit (along with a small office unit at one end of the house) is serving as temporary whole house A/C in Phoenix AZ. In July. With a few fans to push air into the bedrooms, it works well. Very livable. In fact, this is working better than the roof mount A/C did. And according to the daily smartmeter readings from the utility, it is doing so at 2/3rds the cost. That's cool.Of course the roof A/C is from 1987, and struggles in this heat. Hopefully, I can swing a new unit in the fall. For now, this big baby is doing the job.

### ⭐ Not happy. Died an early death you can say.
*by L***E on February 26, 2016*

Works very well. I am very pleased. But they shipped it with UPS but did not send it in a way that way appropriate. It was sent with a truck that did not have the ability to lift something this size. I let the guy "roll" it. But that dented the frame. I will not do that again. It still works though. I should have sent it back and had they ship it the right way. It is now 1 1/2 yrs since I have this. It just died!!!
