MAT 901147A Steel Head Fence Post Driver with Handles

What can I say? This is a basic tool desinged for a single use: pouding stakes into the ground and it performs this job perfectly. I had no trouble pounding several stakes into my hard, rocky Texas soil. The welds are solid and there's plenty of weight to do the job.

This is a product that I wish I would have bought long ago. It took me hours last year to put fence posts around our garden and I was exhausted after hammering. I purchased this to put six foot posts in our new property. I tried hammering and due to rocks, couldn’t get the posts in. I went back after I got this, and wow! Not only did I get all the posts in, I added more. It takes about four strikes to get posts in. It’s simply amazing how easy it is to use. I’m 63 and had no issues using this at all. Put the hollow end around the post, raise up and down and the post is in the ground. It’s so simple its amazing. I would suggest wearing ear protection as it is very loud. I highly recommend this if you are putting any posts in the ground. We have very rocky ground in NC and it worked perfectly. This is worth every penny I paid!

The post driver shipped out and arrived on time.Packaged very well.The over all quality seems great for the price.All of the welds seem well done.It has some weight to it and does what it's suppose to do.The inside diameter is exactly 2.80 inches.There is a inside weld seam.It was about half the price here compared to local.I would buy again and recommend to anyone that needs a good heavy post driver.

Yes, you might only use this a few times but when your driving steel posts into the ground it's a time saver and worth the money. Seriously, put the sledge hammer down and use this post driver.

I've tried the spring loaded pounders but this one gets the job done. Very solid when setting posts.

I've not used it yet. Appears to be well made, reasonably priced and will do the job for me (when I get to the job).

This thing is a tank. I got all of my posts laid down in about 30 minutes, and that was with having to correct a few of them because I was over ambitious. Best fence driving purchase I think I've ever made.

Bought this for some 8 foot T heavy duty posts to build a chicken fenced in range. Chose this one because it has a nice long shaft that never slips off when winding up with the downward pile driving stroke and a weight that delivers an authoritative impact without being too exhausting to use if doing many posts. I only had to pound in 20 but the ground is very hardpan with many rocks and roots . I found using a magnetic level and having a couple of 8 foot 2x4s came in handy to ensure alignment and level as it was a solo install. Yes pre-loading on to the T bar is easier if one is climbing up a ladder and keeping it balanced and doing it without loosing it. Works like a hot dam for pounding in rebar too. Wish I had got this years ago. A lot less dangerous than using the old 12 lb sledge and does it with a lot less risk. The thing looks built to last and the colour is stellar! Oh yeah, also found wearing heavy duty rubber gloves great for holding on and to avoid blisters.
