For MORE then catching baitish (CHECK local laws regarding use)
I have always, well, maybe NOT always, wanted to get one of these, just to see how it works, well, after about 12 casts,it became EZ,and fun too,it gave me a chance to see just how beautiful the fish are when they are tooo small for a hook, starting colors, nice lines, while I bought it to collect bait (its IMPERATIVE!! that you check local fish and game laws regarding the use of a castnet, which may or not vary from water to water ,some areas require a Castnet Permit to use in certain areas!!!!),it became more of a personal research, fun type thing,I can see this being a great family type tool, kinda like kids going thru the garden with a butterfly net catching bugs and butterflies, cept HERE you DONT know what you are catching until you pull the net up.CONS-This device can be dangerous,it can if NOT kept under CONTROL,lead to excercise, weight loss, arouse your desire to study water life forms, spend more time with your kids as they want to see what the next catch brings in.USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.As a serious note-this has a long chord which can be dangerous to young children that may become entangled in any part of the net.Enjoy.........

It Works!
First cast net I've purchased / used. Found a good YouTube video on an easy way to throw the net and have been watching it over and over and practicing, So far I've only used it a few times while on vacation on the SC coast which is the main impetus for buying it. After trying to use it the first two times without enough practice and with limited success, I spent some more time practicing on the lawn in the place we are staying and I have become fairly proficient at throwing it now so I'm ready to try again. Almost as fun trying to catch bait with one of these as actually using the bait caught and fishing with a rod & reel! So far the net is working fine--no tangles or difficulties.Definitely recommend getting your technique down on the lawn before actually using it in the water. Here's the video that helped me learn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY8D9ogjqr0

Love this cast net
Perfect size for casting. I’m am female so bigger nets are hard to use. This product still has a great range and is so easy once you practice a couple times. Would definitely buy again if needed. Still holding up after a couple of years.

Great product but use caution if you hit a snag
Great product but use caution if you hit a snag, if you pull too hard you will shread the net. I got the 4' net because I thought It would be easier to toss a smaller net, not so. Product easy to throw, check out U-tube for instructions on throwing a cast net. Next time I will order the 5' or 6' version.

good beginner net for a good value
this net is small, REALLY small. I still rated it 4 stars because it does what it is supposed to. can be very difficult to catch bait with such a small radius net. But it has held up very well (and yes I have snagged it) and I learned to throw a net with this one. its excellent as a learning net. it enabled me to step into a 14 foot net and throw it. good beginner net for a good value.

Great casting net!
We purchased this net to try and trap bait for fishing. First off, practice is needed! It is tricky to toss a casting net and have it actually open enough to trap the fish! That said, practice was fun to do and the net works well when you throw it correctly. The case is poor quality and doesn't seal well, but it works acceptably so a 4 star rating. The price from Amazon can't be beat!

Good quality cast net - Lots of fun
It's been a while since I had used a cast net. I picked this one up for a trip to the beach. We had a lot of fun with it. It's high quality, at least as far as I can tell. The nylon pulls are stout and the mesh is strong. It's carefully packed in the little tackle box it comes in and I had no problems getting it back in the box.I could not be happier with it. If you have never thrown a net this is a great starter size, and it's not a bad size for anyone. It operates smoothly and doesn't bind up.Great cast net, I give it five stars. Thanks
