A well designed tool makes a job easier. These, like all of the Xcelite pliers I have used, fall into that category. The handles are soft and just the slightest bit sticky to make them easy to hold. The pivot is smooth and tight, so there is no wobble, and the jaws flat and properly aligned. They should work well for many years and are worth the investment.

Cheap. Paid too much. Spring doesn't do anything. Not easy to use.

The ones I received are Baby Blue handles vs the Green stated I don't think that matters too much. The item # is slightly different also. DN54GVN. They are Excelite by Weller. No cross hatching on the working surface which is what I wanted on these little pliers. They are made in China. The seem well made but the spring creaks so I looked very closely and the coils of the spring are slightly clicking (bind & release) against the side of the pliers as you open and close the pliers. I assume this will eventually wear through the spring after prolonged use. I am old so it probably won't matter to me but I paid enough that I did not expect this and am disappointed that at least these particular xcelite pliers are China made. Still a nice pair of pliers and I expect them to last reasonably well.Jay

I’ve used (and loved) Xcelite tools for many years. These pliers are somewhat more expensive than the competition, but the machining is excellent, and I expect to have them for a long time. I have several Xcelite nutdrivers that are well over 50 years old, and they still work Ike new. When shopping for tools, Xcelite is always at the top of my shopping list.

Well made. I use mine almost daily (small engine repair). The only gripe is this: I have large hands and tend to occasionally pinch my finger between the grips and the fulcrum. After a couple of bites I learned to not choke up on the grip. Otherwise, you can't go wrong. Would buy again.
