Great unit, operates effectively and quietly, works well below 70F too.
The other reviewer who said that this unit will not work below 70F is wrong. Page 9 of the F413 manual states that the “operating temperature range” of this unit is 33F - 100F (1C - 38C). (See screenshot of the unit’s specs, which I’ve provided.) My own experience confirms it works well down into the 50F range. This unit has performed admirably since I purchased it 5 months ago. I bought it as a permanent solution to help rectify the high humidity levels in my 1870 sq. ft. crawlspace (about 5700 cubic feet) -- the final puzzle piece in my quest to control the humidity level in the crawlspace of my newly purchased home. (My strategy also included tightly closing off all outdoor air vents within the crawlspace, installing a vapor barrier, and encapsulating the subfloor and joists.) I set this unit to 40% humidity, and it works effectively to achieve that. It kicks on only when needed, and it is smart enough to assess by itself whether its motor should operate at full throttle or at a lower speed, and it dynamically adjusts its motor speed without human intervention. I've had no issues with drainage as another reviewer had. No water at all collects under my unit's "hollow feet." In fact, the drainage has been perfect. The included 40 feet clear hose is long enough for me to allow the water to drain exactly where I need it to go. I went with this unit primarily because it was the best one I could find that was small enough to fit through my small crawlspace door. It performs like a champion. I only wish it were Wi-Fi enabled so that I could monitor the humidity levels from my iPhone. However, I have been able to confirm that the unit is working by referencing multiple humidity monitoring devices I've also installed in my crawlspace (an Awair unit being one of them). My major worry in buying this dehumidifier was that it was going to be too loud and that I'd hear it operating when I am in my living space. Thankfully, I don't hear it at all. It operates at 60 decibels, which is equivalent to the human voice in a normal conversation. UPDATE OCTOBER 2019: It has now been 24 months since I installed this unit in my crawlspace. It has been running 24x7 now for two years. I've had no problems. It still works perfectly, and my humidity levels have been perfect.

2 Failures in 7 Years in a Clean, Encapsulated Space
Not worth the money. After one year (just after the warranty period expired) of running in a clean, encapsulated crawlspace where we store a few, but expensive items, it failed. The space isn't temp controlled however it rarely fluctuates too low or too high. We wanted to be sure it stays dry in the space because the items should not be stored in a moist area. This seemed like the perfect solution since the dehu doesn't have to work that hard and would be there if needed. There's a high end air purifier filtration system in the space that maintains good air quality. 7 years later another issue with the dehu. The "limited lifetime warranty" as far as we can determine covers nothing. For thousands of dollars, running in a very clean, relatively dry, encapsulated space, in a climate where we only experience humidity 4 months out of the year, this should have lasted for at least a decade. Won't buy this brand again since two repairs (at our expense) in under 8 years for the little work it does during a few months out of the year are not acceptable. Going to buy the "disposable" $500 units - when they fail they aren't worth the cost of repairing. They last about the same amount of time and can manage the load. Pity they don't stand behind their products.

Really works, even in a large space.
We have moisture problems caused by hydrostatic pressure from a poorly installed ground level concrete floor, (awful contractor - fired & sued him!) The air quality was so poor that any organic items - wood, etc., left in the room would mold, and we could not comfortably use the space at all. This Dri-Eaz unit dried out the 3700 sq ft area in about 3 days of continuous use. We now use it daily to maintain a healthy air moisture level. If there is any fault with this item, it’s that it should have come with wheels to make it easier to move it around, but that was easily resolved with a dolly. Though we still need to install french drains and a sump pump for permanent relief, this has been a life saver in the interim.

Capable, Compact, Loud for Residential Use
I bought this unit to replace a Santa Fe Impact XT. That commercial unit is rated at about 100 pints but is several times larger and much heavier. This unit is a joy to move around; one person can easily move it. The intelligent controller is intuitive and easy to use. The speed with which this thing dropped the RH in my finished basement from 70% to 40% was amazing. If the power goes out (like if you run this on a timer), it returns to its previous state when the power comes back on (which is ideal). It has a variable speed fan (controlled by the computer, not by you - less than ideal) and the fan shuts off when the humidity set point has been reached (if you've told the controller to use the humidistat). It has built in current monitoring, coil temp monitoring, input and output air temp and humidity monitoring, and various hour meters. Extremely well designed. Unfortunately, it is also quite a bit louder than the Santa Fe XT in terms of both compressor "hum" and fan/air noise. It would be fine in a crawl space or in a restoration situation - it doesn't sound "cheap" - it sounds like business! However, you don't want it running in your finished basement at night or if you're using the basement for living space. So 5+ stars on features and capabilities. 3 stars for routine use in a residential environment. I'm happy enough with it to keep it but I did need to re-position it away from living space.

The ABSOLUTE GRIZZLY BEAR OF DEHUMIDIFIERS
The DRI-EAZ REVOLUTION DEHUMIDIFIER is the Grizzly Bear of dehumidifiers. We installed this machine in a 3500 sq ft basement that tends to be damp due to natural aquifers surrounding it. We live in a valley with a meandering stream just 70 feet from our basement. This machine is easy to operate and started lowering the humidity as soon as it was plugged in. We liked it enough we bought a second unit just weeks later and plan to get a third one for another building. They’re not cheap but the less expensive models burn out. This machine has a great warranty and is built like a tank. Do yourself a favor and step up your game to this model if you’re serious about cutting the humidity in your environment.

Good at dehumidifying - poor at water disposal function
We purchased this item to remove humidity from our eletronics equipment area for a commercial operations. Upon arrival, the item did not work. The internal pump was somehow loose within the enclosure, and there is a simple float valve that regulates the pumping. When dislodged, the system was smart enough to realize it wasnt supposed to operate. Once we reseated the pump in the proper spot, the humidifier worked great. We saw much water being extracted and pumped out... initially. For whatever engineering/design bonehead decision, the legs (where the screws fixate within the enclosure, surfaced by little rubber non-skid "feet") are hollow, straight down to whatever is beneath the humidifier. I have several times walked into our electronics room, and seen a large puddle of water - that the humidifier did successfully extract moisture from the air, and leaked it directly to the floor. I now only turn this thing on in emergencies, for short periods of time, with a towel underneath it. This thing is expensive, and I want to share my experience.

Great product multi-purpose
We originally purchased 3 of these for our construction company’s mold/water remediation division 1 year ago. Since then we have found these are extremely high quality, never failed us & have been also used by our painting division, Sheetrock crew, helped drying out basements for our framing crew. They have been such a great purchase for our company. Definitely saved us hundreds of labor dollars from our employees waiting for walls to dry.

Updated 2/15/2020 - Not so robust
I originally had a Frigidaire 70-pints a day dehumidifier in my basement that would run the entire time thinking it was adequate to control the humidity in my basement to acceptable levels - my basement is a little under 1600 sq feet. I use a Wally Home to monitor water alarms and this sensor I have by my sump pump monitors and records temperature and humidity so I have a lot of data of what my humidity in my basement was before and after. When my Dri-Eaz arrived, the humidity by my sump pump was reading in the higher 60s% range near 70% with the Frigidaire running non-stop and the filter being cleaned regularly. In the 2 weeks I've had it, I turned off the Frigidaire and the turned on the Dri-Eaz and the humidity dropped drastically from the high 60s% to 50%rh. I also used a Omega Engineering Humidity and Temperature data logger (I have access to one of these through my job) and watch - the humidity readings didn't match the Wally Home sensor value - it read the humidity down to 47%. I just don't have the baseline from the Omega instrument before I turned on the the Dri-Eaz. This works exceptionally well (as should expect for the price of it) and it seems like those $300/$400 units that work for a few years are not worth the investment if you're experiencing mold in your basement. Update 8/11/2018 - My basement is split in two and wanted to compare my Dri-Eaz to the Frigidaire unit I had more. I had the sensor in there to monitor the humidity before turning on the Dri-Eaz to establish a baseline, turn on the Dri-Eaz and let it run about a week then turned off the Dri-Eaz and put the Frigidaire70-pints a day dehumidifier in the same spot and turned on pretty much immediately after the Dri-Eaz was powered off. I added a screenshot from my humidity sensor monitoring to share the results of how superior this unit is compared to the Frigidaire 70-pints unit. Update - 2.15.2020 After about 14-15 months of ownership it has started to leak. Dri-Eaz will help you troubleshoot but didn't expect anything to fail not even within 2 years of original purchase. Was told it only had a 1-year warranty. Trying to figure out what is causing the leak is difficult. Moving from 5-star to 2-star because after the price paid, didn't expect it to leak.
