Sharkbite Brass Cap. Brass push fitting. UPC, IAPMO, and NSF-61 certified and approved. The fitting can be used with copper, PEX, and CPVC, and is rated at 200 deg. F., 200 PSI. It is made of 1-piece DZR brass, which is a noncorrosive, low lead material. Fittings can be buried and placed behind drywall. Fittings are removeable and reuseable. Product is individually bagged.

My water heater started leaking this weekend.  So I shut off the valve to the water heater and drained the heater.  However, discovered the the valve into the heating was leaking, so I had to shut off the water to the entire house house until a new water heater was to be installed (5 - 7 days). Did a search on line for a way to shut off the water to the heater and found this product as a solution.  Went to HD and purchased product for about $8.  Installation was simple.  Cut 3/4 inch copper pipe.  Clean up end.  Jam cap over the end. Done. So far no leak.  At least we can use cold water til the new heater comes.
