They work and they are nice, but don't expect to be stunned. I had other lanterns that charged easily and lit up very brightly. These are not like that. It takes a couple days for them to fully charge and, even then, they don't last that long into the night and they are not very bright. They're nice, but done expect to rave about them. Also, the light is very yellow. Expect them to look like they are candle-lit. The on/off switch is on the underside of the top, so to flip the switch, you have to unscrew the top--not a very user-friendly design. The plastic around the top of one of the lanterns promptly cracked during this operation. The part that is used to actually hang the lanterns is made from the same cheap plastic, so I don't expect them to last very long.
