UPINS 12 Piece Water Color Brush Pen Set, Watercolor Paint Pens for Painting Markers

I bought my 9yo daughter a watercolor set for Christmas and loved the water pen brush that came in her kit so much that I purchased these for her to use in place of the traditional watercolor brushes. Listen, these water pen brushes are a GAME CHANGER for people with children and for parents who fear the mess water color painting can cause. Now no mess!! Fill the pen as indicated, get a sheet of paper towel, grab your watercolor paint kit, and BINGO! Hours of fun! I even purchased watercolor coloring books for the kids and they just grab their loaded water pen brush, and the coloring books (since the paint is on the side of the page) and they bring it with them on car rides instead of their tablets sometimes. I keep a water bottle with me for reloading their pens as needed. I mean GAME CHANGER!! The pens are great quality for the price. No leaks, good operation, brushes are nice, distribute paint well, and clean very easily. Would definitely recommend!

WARNING: I'M NOT YELLING IN ALL CAPS, JUST LEGALLY BLIND. I'VE HAD THIS SET FOR OVER TWO MONTHS. LIKE A TIMEX WATCH, THESE WATER BRUSH PAINT PENS TAKE A LICKING AND KEEP ON TICKING! THEY ARE SO DURABLE AND HOLD THEIR SHAPE VERY WELL AND I HAVEN'T LOST A SINGLE FIBER EVEN AFTER TAKING A TON OF USE & ABUSE! THEY DO UNSCREW IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. AT FIRST IT SEEMS AWKWARD BUT AFTER A FASHION IT BECOMES SECOND NATURE TO THREAD & UNTHREAD THE BRUSH TIP FROM THE WATER RESIVOR. THEY ARE A LITTLE TEMPERMENTAL TO REFILL BUT I'VE FOUND USING A SYRINGE DOES THE TRICK VERY WELL! I'VE HAD NO MISHAPS OR LEAKS FROM ANY OF THE BRUSHES IN THIS SET! THIS IS AN AMAZING QUALITY WATER BRUSH PEN SET! THEY WORK VERY WELL FOR EVERYTHING FROM LARGE WASHES TO FINE LINE DETAILSI TO AID IN THE WATERCOLOR PAPER STRETCHING EVEN USE THE LARGEST FLAT BRUSHES TO PRE-WET MY WATERCOLOR PAPER. I ALSO KEEP ALL MY BRUSHES FILLED WITH WATER TO EASILY SWITCH OUT THE RESIVORS WHEN MY FAVORITE BRUSH RUNS OUT OF WATER! THEY ARE SO EASY TO USE. THEY WORK GREAT WITH WATERCOLOR PENCILS AND DRY PAN WATERCOLOR PAINTS. THESE WATERCOLOR BRUSH PENS WORK SO WELL, I'VE GIVEN UP ON USING STANDARD SYNTHETIC & REAL HAIR WATERCOLOR BRUSHES AND OTHER HIGH END WATER BRUSH PENS. MY ONLY WISH IS THAT THEY WOULD DESIGN AN OVAL WASH BRUSH TIP. THESE ARE A GREAT VALUE FOR THE MONEY, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE WATER BRUSH PENS!!!

I found that while these have a great range of sizes, brush type and tips, the seals for the water between the brush and the handle was a bit poor, which resulted in water consistently moving to the brush tip while in use. This is far from a major flaw, but makes for intense detail work or harsher pigmentation in sections difficult, and can water-down or pool even without applied pressure. If you're a beginner looking to try something cheap and with a wide range of techniques and brush shapes--this is great and easy to carry and use! I find that these would also be good for backgrounds, skies / softer layers before adding detail. However, I found these difficult for subject matter, smaller paintings, or fine details.

Looove these and make it so much easier for our rice paper and decoupage work!

THEY UNSCREW BACKWARDS! Was just about to write a scathing review and send back when I noticed this tiny bit of info halfway down another review. You would think that this is something they would make very clear somewhere in the post or with the product. There is also a learning curve on controling water. Okay for travel, but prefer real brushes.

These work great. I like the screw on lids so I can carry them in my purse without leaking. Comes with a variety of tips. I use with a small watercolor book. Great for kids with water color books on the go. Wipe with clean paper towel when switching colors.
