HOWEVER, the first time he charged it, it started smoking out of the wooden base and burnt the table it was sitting on. Luckily he was in the same room and unplugged it immediately. The lights are activated by sound, so even if you have the box closed the lights will still light up when there is noises, so make sure to turn the lights off when you are done with it.I know batteries were included, but it even had extra.
