Premium Black Paper Sketchbook (5-1/4'' x 8-1/2'')

Love this sketchbook for several reasons - for one, the claim that the binding lays flat for "ease of use" is absolutely accurate in my experience which is great, world of difference from some sketchbooks. The hardcover is durable, so despite the small size I've had no concerns nor any issues with it being crushed or crunched or bent in any bags or backpacks. Paper quality is fantastic in my opinion - I'm not so much a drawing type as I am doodling, but boy do I press HARD when I'm doodling sometimes. In the picture of one of my doodles, you can see the imprint on the back side of the previous page, however the paper didn't rip and I've never had a problem with that (in this book - other times, has been an issue). Also, despite pressing that hard, the following page isn't 'ruined' with a total outline of whatever was just drawn. Gelly roll metallic pens are what I use for the black paper, some of the more neon shades from their classic or moonlight collections show up well which is fun, and the gelly roll stardust collection pens are nice for accenting/finishing touches over the metallic or neon One more thing - love the perforations, very easy to remove pages cleanly. And love that this is from a small business! Will certainly purchase from them again without hesitation, I'm a brand loyal type and I've found my brand lol

Love this sketch book. White highlight pens show up great on it.

I absolutely love these journals! Been using them for years now. Using gel pens on the black paper makes my brain happy so I write. High quality and sturdy. Thicker paper that is perforated, and tears nicely! I love this journal.

This is just the perfect little black book to finally have good heavy black paper in a sketchbook. Now that I have every color it's probably time I do something in each of them! I have a black paper journal I was using before but it has dot paper I it so I'm really happy to have a good well bound hardcover all black sketchbook with solid black paper in it. It's very well made and the paper is smooth and heavy enough to handle erasing and gouache or acrylic and any type.of paint pen or gel pen or metallic marker you can throw at it. I'm sure metallic and brightly colored colored pencils would look stunning as well. It's going to be a lot of fun and I'm about to grab it now that I've gotten myself all excited about what to do with it! Definitely a must buy, if you're looking at these reviews it probably means you're interested so go for it. Oh and it has a ton of pages too.

Solid product. Pages are as described - high quality, and if you use appropriate utensils, it's an extremely rewarding writing/drawing medium. Missed a 5th star, because of the binding...the spine does what spines do, and the pages tend not to want to lay flat...with the smaller pages, this is both more pronounced and less easily avoided or accommodated..... that's the nature of this binding, and the manufacturer makes the most of it. Having said that, I'd love to see either a top-margin (legal style) version, or, given the number of pages included (another plus, btw), a ring-bound model (so the pages lay flat, without issue) All in all, a great value; an unregretted purchase 👍

Cool little sketch book

This is a super nice sketchbook! the most important qualities for me are met: It lies flat, has micro-perforated and good quality paper. it also has a nice thickness and size. I'd definitely buy another one once this is filled. I do have to add though that the stitching seems a little bit fragile so I'm not sure how well it would hold if I were to carry it around. I'll update this as I keep on using it over time. totally recommended.

I just received it, so have sketched or anything, but it looks so good that I had to add a review. It looks goods, feels sturdy to hold, paper quality is awesome. The stickers on the front and back peeled off easily (I didn't want there there). And the perfect size.I have nothing bad to say about this sketchbook (so far). It's 100% worth the price.

Durable strong and perfect size notebook, not too big and not too small. Can use gel pens on the pages, totally brings you back to your childhood, gel pens and black notebooks! solid black pages, most gel pens write well, super vibrant ink. Depends on the pen, but love this product

Bellissimo! Spesso questo genere di sketchbook ha le pagine sottilissime, questo invece mi ha stupito. Ovviamente non sono cartoncini, per intenderci, ma regge bene uniposca, pastelli morbidi e matite metallizzate. Lo consiglio vivamente. L’adesivo con la farfalla io non l’ho tolto, perché mi ricorda i primi album di avril lavigne, ma si può staccare. Consiglio!
