Bringing the magic & mystery back to office romance! (Updated for audio)
Loved it!! Masie is simply irresistible in her enthusiasm and even the office grump can't resist. She and Cameron are adorable together!! Love the mix of mystery, romance, and personal discovery. Perfect. Makes me think if Audrey Hepburn & Cary Grant or maybe Grace & Cary...old Hollywood mystery romance.Update for audio version too:This was a 're-read' for me. I loved the performance by Stacey Holmes. Maisie is so much fun to listen to!Maisie is a researcher at a PI firm. She is unfailing happy and friendly despite being the odd man out at the office. At the company holiday party, she catches sight of the office grump (and always highly professional) sitting at the bar alone.Cameron is only there because their boss told him to come. Maisie decides to approach him and thus a new path in life is begun for both of them. She erodes his walls and doesn't even realize he does't fight her approach. He does not suffer fools lightly, so obviously he does not find her an annoying flibbertigibbet. Not only is this a sweet, steamy romance, but it also has a mystery. A combination I adore!! Maisie is sweet, curious, optimistic, and persistent. Cameron is introverted, sexy, broody, and surprisingly sweet.I listened to this in almost one sitting (body decided it wanted to sleep). I still feel like it gives the feel of an old Hollywood movie, like Charade or To Catch a Thief.I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Pleasant
This is a very light mystery/romance and, it appears, that was the author's intention. It's enjoyable, little preachy and a bit truncated, but still decent. The protagonist is relatable or at least reminiscent someone you might know. Her love interest was two dimensional, but not completely irredeemable. Side characters are vague or jerks, but mostly an attempt at red herrings that didn't distract.I would say the story needed more twists and turns but mostly refining. It definitely falls more on the romance side than the mystery side. The pacing was good for three quarters than just flew towards the end, wrapping up far too fast for either genre then coming to a crawl at the very end. I truly wish it included well researched aspects of private investigation, it's something would have been necessary in a general nonfiction and would have made this a good novel as opposed to a decent romance. It's an enjoyable book but I wish it had much more depth.SPOILERS:This book has concepts that were used in previous novels of Cosway's. So if you've read her previous works you will start to wonder why so many people have burglaries in her stories, why moms seem to die like they're in a Disney movie, or why the manly love interests are cruel to the heroines in a bid to maintain distance but they were doing it for her own good. She's a good author but I think after you've published a certain quantity you are bound to revisit certain areas of previous works and her beta and alpha readers should have been kind enough to say something.

3 Stars
5 stars for the romance. 2 stars deducted for all the varied, and many Scooby Doo Mysteries. Add it up. What could have been a 5-star romance, turns into a 3 star -just average- with all the ‘crime fighting’ nonsense.‘Romance’ is good enough for those of us who love romance. How I wish it was good enough for these ‘romance’ writers who prefer writing for Scooby Doo.

Romance + Mystery!
Happy Go lucky is such a delightful book! Maisie is a general do-gooder, good at her job, and things are chugging along till the office Christmas party rolls by. The more she gets to know gruff, dour Cameron, the more she likes him... and the more she starts to change. Her personal evolution and budding romance is all very well, but Maisie has other matters at hand too... as private investigators, she and Cameron team up to solve some intriguing mysteries, deal with office politics, and try to come to terms with their feelings for each other even as they decide to shelve that whole bundle of things for a few months.I loved every bit of this story, and Cameron is definitely very high on my list of favourite book heroes. He’s so no-nonsense most of the time, that he makes it sound swoony when he tells Maisie that she's 'tolerable'! That makes it even sweeter when he softens towards her, every look, every stolen moment between them so very satisfying. Maisie on her part is adorable without being cutesy. She’s pretty relatable, and I love how she comes to realise the difference between being nice, and being a pushover. Even as she starts to stand up for herself, she remains a nice person, and you can’t help but like her.The supporting cast of characters all add to the experience, and it was great to see my favs from Fauxmance show up here for a bit.

Great story
This was, as I have now come to expect from L H Cosway a great read. Maisie was a very endearing character. Always going out of her way to be nice to people, even those who do not deserve her kindenss, she likes to be liked. Cameron is the complete opposite. He is grumpy and doesn't care of he is liked it not. He was the perfect match for Maisie! Set in a private investigators office I loved how Maisie came to see that Cameron was much more than his grumpy exterior, as they work together on a case. A great read that I would definitely recommend.

Funny and engaging
This was a great read. Really good plotline with lots of twists. Endearing and funny characters especially Maise, who is just adorable and the grouchy but swoony Cameron. Lots of fantastic support characters like Lilah and Nick etc.Worth a read.
