DryTec 23224-06 Extra Treatment Pool Shock, 6-Pack

This product is precisely as advertised. The packages were are very thick plastic (for security in transporting) and the box was also excellent quality. I hesitated to order, thinking this product would not make it in the mails. Everything was tight and undamaged when received. I ordered this because it is offered in one pound packages; I can use one without opening everything (thus keeping things drier).We actually purchased this for emergencies. Did you know that liquid bleach actually degrades as it sits in your garage? After about 6 months, the quality of the bleach deteriorates. We live in a hurricane-prone area and want to be ready to purify water when necessary. Please note that this is a higher concentration than most products; thus it is a better value. This is 73% calcium hypochlorite; most products are only 60 - 65%.I needed sealed packages instead of one large container; we use these in fits-and-spurts. Very happy with this purchase.

I have an Intex 52" by 24' above ground pool with a sand filter. This shock has been a lifesaver! We have been able to keep our pool crystal clear all summer with very little maintenance. Last summer I went through a ton of the 3" stabilized chlorine tabs and still had a hard time keeping the pool clear. This year we tried using liquid bleach along with the floater & adding a shock treatment every 2-3 weeks. It's worked wonderfully for us and saves me $150 a month on a pool guy to come out & maintain our pool. I will definitely be reordering this again! Our pool did cloud up once when we were too busy to check on it for over a week, I added 1 bag of shock in the evening, a second bag the next day because it looked blue but still a little cloudy & it cleared right up by the next morning.

Shipping was very fast. Product is as advertised. The 6 packets were in a plastic bag but the bag was not sealed. One of the packets had a hole in it & the calcium hypochlorite power was spilling out of the box. There were no holes in the box or secondary bag. If they had just sealed the bag or completely sealed the box I wouldn't have a problem. As it was, it was a hazard to UPS employees & equipment & it spilled onto my car seat.

Removed a star because when added to well water made the pool completely cloudy. Can not return!!!!!

Worked like a charm. Not too easy to find the 73 percent item in stores.

I have been struggling to clean the badly-neglected pool that came with the house I just purchased. This product gets the water crystal-clear, and I have ordered it several times now.

Seems to the the job. It is one of those things that either works or it doesn't. It did.
