4 years Strong
I bought this brush 4 years ago and I have nothing but great things to say! For the price point, this is an amazing brush. It has held up well and gives an amazing lather each and every time. I'm a firefighter that has to shave regularly and I always find it a pleasure to use. It is also great for head shaving. Strongly recommend!

Very good brush
Let me just say that I purchased this little brush about 3 weeks ago and I really love it. Previously I had owned the Tweezerman pure badger brush which a) shed hair during almost every use and b) eventually the brush became permanently detached from the handle, all in about 9 months time. Note that this was under normal to light usage - I shave about 3x a week on a good week. So, I can already tell this Omega brush is well made because it has only shed 1 hair so far, and it was during the very first use - not bad! Also, it just has a better feel in your hand, and comes with a convenient little stand for storage and drying. This brush seems to be darker in color than my previous brush (lots of black hairs) but I honestly can't tell you how (or if) color relates to hair quality, as my knowledge of the badger brushes is still somewhat limited. This brush is a little more stiff than I was expecting, but it may get broken in after more uses. Also, it takes a decent amount of water to generate a nice lather I've noticed, more so than my old brush. But this would be dependent on the ratio of cream used, so it may vary from person to person. All in all this is a great brush for wet shavers on a budget - for the price I think it will be hard to beat this guy. Paired with a good shave cream (Taylor of Old Bond St. Avacado is my favorite), this brush really does help to make shaving more effective and enjoyable.Rob

Holding up well
6 months on and this is holding up very well. Lathers well, good ergonomics, and cleans easily. Does what it’s supposed to do.

Great for the price.
This is my first shaving brush, save for one my dad used. Construction is good. Since I've had it, I've had only one bristle come out. The grip is secure in my hand while extra lather is on my fingers. It works up volumes of lather easily, even with mediocre shave soaps. As you lather up, the bristles feel great on my face. I can sense the stubble being lifted up.Rinse it out well, and hang it to dry!! It retains its shape nicely. It would be interesting to use a much more expensive brush ($100+), and compare the two. But I feel for the price, this is a very good shave brush.

Excellent little brush
Not a fan of synthetics, they work but I don't like their water retention characteristics. This is why all I use now are natural bristles and Omega has done a great job with this one. Unusual was the fact there was absolutely no "new brush funk", that musty wet-dog smell that takes numerous shaves or hand lathering with dish detergent to be rid of. Nope, this brush came out of the package very pleasant in that regard.I have had zero shedding so far, the hairs are bonded in the knot well. There is mild "scritch" or whatever the term is for new hairs that feel a little sharp at first use. I bowl lather Speick cream in a Turkish hammered copper mug and that process is breaking down the tips nicely. It splays well and holds plenty of lather for me to get 2 to 3 passes out of. Overall this is exactly the size I like, and is money well spent. I expect this brush to hold up many, many years of daily use.

This brush is where to start
I recently switched back to wet shaving after many years of an electric. I started out by buying a Gillette Fusion that came with a can of Fusion shave gel. I then decided to experiment with shave soap and brush. I bought a tube of C.O. Bigelow shave cream from Bath & Body Works, I've been lead to believe it's made by Proraso. I picked up a brush from Walmart, a boars hair brush to be specific. I used the two together a few times but can't say I was extremely impressed, mainly because of the brush. It did an OK job of spreading lather, but it felt like I was getting poked in the face by a bunch of little needles, and it took quite a bit of soap to build a good lather. I actually did like the shaving cream though so I figured I'd give it another shot and order a "good" brush. All I can say is WOW!! What a difference!! Not only does it take less soap to build a lather in the shaving bowl, the lather actually increases as you apply it. Also, using the brush now feels good on my face, especially when it's still hot. Anyway, if you're switching to wet shaving, start out by getting this brush and a good quality shave cream. By the way, the Fusion did pretty good job, cartridges for it though are pretty expensive.

Perfect starter brush
After seven months of use the brush is holding up well. It has softened a bit since first opening it and creates a good lather using a variety of shave soaps. In the time I've been using it, it has lost very few bristles and I'm not particularly gentle with it. This is my first shave brush and for the money I don't think you will find a better performing or more reliable brush. The stand is a bit fiddly but it does the job it's supposed to do. I find the handle very comfortable and easy to hold even with wet, soapy fingers and that is important. This is something I use every day and it's a pleasure every time I do. If you're looking for an economical first brush, I heartily recommend this one over the Tweezerman brush which I also own. This Omega brush is fatter and softer and feels better both on the face and in the hand.
